As a principal full-stack developer, you will bridge the gap between user experience designs, product management requirements, database structures, and cloud architecture. Operating fully onsite in Toronto within an Agile/Scrum delivery framework, you will translate user stories into clean, performant, and accessible code across the entire software stack. This position demands a hands-on technical authority who can engineer REST APIs, integrate front-end frameworks like React and Next.js, write complex SQL queries using Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) tools, support CI/CD pipelines, and enforce strict web accessibility standards (WCAG/AODA). Implement server-side logic and microservices using Node.js, Java/Spring Boot, or .NET application frameworks. Design, optimize, and maintain relational databases using SQL, applying Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) tools such as Entity Framework. Ensure application performance, scalability, and strict compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and digital accessibility standards. Support Quality Assurance activities by writing automated unit tests, conducting integration testing, and supporting regression/vulnerability testing. Maintain, support, and improve continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines within DevOps environments. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical incidents and performance bottlenecks in production applications. Create technical design documentation, architecture blueprints, release implementation guides, and operational procedures. Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members during Agile sprint ceremonies, task estimation, and daily stand-ups. Conduct structured knowledge transfer walkthroughs and provide technical guidance to team members. Qualifications Core Technical Requirements Full-Stack Software Engineering: Proven experience in full-stack application development, encompassing front-end UI design, back-end API development, and database architecture. Front-End Frameworks & Languages: Strong hands-on experience with React, Next.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript, as well as common libraries (e.g., React Hook Form, React Query, Zustand). Back-End & API Development: Hands-on experience designing and building REST APIs using Node.js, Java/Spring Boot, or ASP.NET frameworks. Database & ORM Experience: Solid experience writing SQL queries and managing data access through Entity Framework or equivalent Object-Relational Mapping tools. Web Accessibility Standards: Working knowledge and practical experience applying Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and related digital accessibility regulations (AODA) to web application development. Agile Delivery & Tooling: Practical experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery teams using Git version control, feature branching, and DevOps tooling. Preferred Experience & Assets Cloud & Platform Experience: Knowledge of Azure cloud development (Azure SQL, PaaS, serverless functions), microservices, and container-based platforms. Test Automation & CI/CD: Experience with testing frameworks (NUnit, XUnit, Jest, Playwright) and automated CI/CD pipeline setup using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. Data Modeling: Experience creating object-oriented models (UML) using design tools like PowerDesigner.
