Full Job Description
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or in a similar role supporting mission-critical, high-traffic environments.
  • Strong programming experience with web technologies such as:
    • Vue, Angular, or React
    • NodeJS, Python, Go, or Java
  • Proven experience with monitoring, alerting, and incident management for complex systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues, driving root cause analysis and implementing effective fixes.
  • Thorough understanding of all stages of software development.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience leading or mentoring other engineers and influencing technical direction.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a track record of building relationships, educating peers, and influencing technical direction.
  • In depth understanding and passion for excellence in the WWT Core Values.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science or Management Information Systems; A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of the salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $108,400 to $135,500 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that are not included in the base pay.

About the Role

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is a proactive technical expert focused on elevating the reliability and performance of the systems that power wwt.com. In this role, you'll shape and enhance the infrastructure and services behind our digital platforms, working closely with development teams to address complex technical challenges.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you have experience building and supporting distributed systems at scale, and you excel at automating operational processes. You understand how reliability and performance directly impact our business and our users, and you use this perspective to guide your work and influence engineering decisions. You are hands-on, pragmatic, and approach technology decisions with an open mind. You'll be the trusted advisor for reliability and operational excellence, frequently consulted on challenging and high-impact initiatives. You'll help teams evaluate new projects and features through the lens of reliability and performance, ensuring that our systems are resilient, scalable, and deliver a seamless experience for our users.

Responsibilities:
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the reliability and performance of wwt.com and our critical, high-traffic services.
