DescriptionAs the
Senior Security Operations Manager at Impulse, you will lead day-to-day industrial security operations while serving as the primary Facility Security Officer (FSO) and Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO) responsibilities as a key sub-duty. The position ensures full compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), DoD directives, and customer security requirements in support of national security programs.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop the security operations team, providing strategic oversight and operational execution for personnel, physical, information, and insider threat security programs
- Serve as the designated Facility Security Officer (FSO), implementing and maintaining the company's industrial security program in compliance with NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117). This includes personnel clearance processing (DISS/NBIS), classified document control, self-inspections, training/awareness programs, incident investigations, and DCSA liaison
- Serve as Insider Threat Program Security Senior Official (ITPSO), establishing and managing the Insider Threat Program per NISPOM requirements. This includes developing the program plan, self-certification to DCSA, training, behavioral monitoring, risk analysis, and integration with counterintelligence and security operations
- Oversee physical security measures, access control, SCIF management (where applicable), visitor control, and protection of classified materials and IT assets
• Support contract security requirements (e.g., DD Form 254 reviews), proposal activities, audits, and cross-functional collaboration with Program Management, Engineering, IT, Legal, and HR.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
- 8+ years of progressive Security experience in industrial/information security within USG and/or cleared defense contractor environments, including 5+ years in leadership roles
- Demonstrated experience serving as or supporting an FSO under NISPOM; strong knowledge of DCSA processes, personnel security, and classified handling procedures
- Demonstrated experience as or supporting an ISSM/ISSO, including RMF, SSP development, and system authorization
- Familiarity with Insider Threat Programs and ITPSO responsibilities under NISPOM
- Relevant certifications (e.g., FSO training, CISSP, CISM, or IAM Level III equivalent)
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- U.S. Citizenship with an active Top Secret security clearance and SCI eligibility (polygraph may be required)
Preferred Skills and Experience- Demonstrated Experience with Special Access Programs (SAP) and SCI environments
- 5+ years of demonstrated security experience within aerospace, space, or advanced technology programs
- Former Military, Government, Intelligence Community experience
- Familiarity with classified information systems, to include Risk Management Framework (RMF), System Security Plans (SSPs), and Authority to Operate (ATO) processes
- Demonstrated experience with modern security tools for monitoring and automation
Additional Information:Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
