Amgen is seeking a Senior Scientist to join our Pharmacokinetics, Drug Metabolism & Bioanalytical (PKDM-BA) team in Thousand Oaks, California.. The successful candidate will be able to work both independently and in collaboration with cross-functional partners, including protein therapeutics, medicinal chemistry, pharmacokinetics, toxicology, clinical pharmacology and regulatory affairs. Together, we design and validate quantitative methods that support drug candidate identification, preclinical development, clinical evaluation and regulatory submissions.
Key ResponsibilitiesA Senior Scientist at Amgen is responsible for supporting all facets of the bioanalytical method lifecycle from drug development through clinical trial support as a subject matter expert. You will design, lead, and participate in the execution of experiments to support development, validation and production phases for quantitative bioanalytical methods. You will contribute to optimizing study protocols, reviewing experiments, and authoring bioanalytical reports. Your expertise will be used to improve bioanalytical methods, lead troubleshooting efforts, and ensure quality.

Basic QualificationsDoctorate degree
OR
Master's degree and 2 years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or related scientific experience experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 4 years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or related scientific experience experience
Preferred Qualifications- 6+ years of laboratory experience.
- Experience in immunology, immunochemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, or related disciplines.
- Ligand binding assay experience. Experience with biosimilars, oligonucleotide and antibody drug conjugates a plus.
- Working knowledge of GxP regulations and bioanalytical requirements in drug development. Bioanalytical Principal Investigator, or functional equivalency, highly desired.
- Ability to work independently on tasks with strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Experience with automated liquid handlers (e.g. Tecan, Hamilton)
- Proven ability to communicate scientific concepts effectively to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
- Demonstrated commitment to scientific excellence, innovation and quality.
- Strong collaboration, verbal communication and technical writing skills.
- Supervisory experience is valued.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
