Full Job Description
Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Scheduler to actively manage and support the delivery of Project Management & Controls services. The role involves providing specialist leadership in schedule development, integration, and control for major projects or programs, enabling effective decision-making through accurate scheduling, forecasting, and performance reporting. The Scheduler will proactively identify and manage program risks and delays, support mitigation strategies, and provide expert schedule and contractual support for change management, Extension of Time claims, and dispute resolution. Additionally, the role supports strong project governance, best practice project controls, and team capability development, while ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.

On-site presence is required for this role.

Role accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining the main design schedule, integrating it with the contractor's schedule, and developing and managing the Master Schedule to meet program needs and reporting requirements. Leveraging your advanced analytical abilities, high attention to detail, and accuracy, you will create accurate forecast schedules, perform both qualitative and quantitative schedule analysis, and undertake re-baselining and mitigation where required. Your robust organisational and coordination management skills will enable effective integration of inputs from multiple disciplines. Drawing on your experience with Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and Rolling Wave scheduling techniques, you will also be essential in creating delay analysis fragments-including Time Impact Analysis (TIA)-and in preparing and updating bi-weekly reports and analytics to track planned versus actual performance.

You will manage, monitor, and maintain project reporting, capturing opportunities, delays, and impacts. This includes preparing management-approved KPI metrics and graphics, such as CPI and EV, through the application of Earned Value Management, progress measurement, and performance tracking. You will ensure contract requirements are understood and applied-covering milestones, frequency, early warnings, and critical paths. Familiarity with managing RFIs, technical/commercial responses, and the RFQ process from an Owner's perspective will support your responsibilities in documenting extension of time requests, assessing the impact of variations, and reviewing and analyzing construction claims. You will provide professional opinions and prepare advice and reports on contractual entitlement and quantification of damages for negotiation and dispute resolution.

Additionally, you will identify schedule-related risks, participate in project risk reviews, and maintain the risk register, drawing on your experience supporting multidisciplinary teams on complex infrastructure and marine projects. Your strong written and verbal communication skills will be crucial as you attend meetings, advise clients on progress, schedule, or commercial implications, and collaborate with the project team on all commercial and project control matters. You will also mentor and guide junior team members on cost and schedule management practices, assist in setting up major projects-including sub-consultancy agreements, management plans, and reports-and maintain project-related records such as contracts and change orders.

Furthermore, you will identify and resolve project control issues, working with other team members to propose and implement solutions. You will actively contribute to best practice commercial management leadership within the Performance Excellence Group, perform other duties as required by your Line Manager or Arcadis, and ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and guidelines. Your demonstrated ability to excel in team environments and your expertise in Program Management environments will ensure the highest standards of project delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years' industry experience in project control and scheduling.
  • Strong technical knowledge of scheduling software, particularly Primavera P6, with the ability to assess cost and schedule impacts of design or construction changes.
  • Proven experience working within a design and engineering consultancy environment, including managing or supporting design projects.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction work processes and activity sequencing.
  • Marine project experience is desirable and will be considered a strong asset

The salary range for this position is $93,000 - $139,000. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
