Senior Sales ManagerPosition SummaryThe Senior Sales Manager is responsible for generating group, corporate, leisure, and special event business that maximizes resort revenue, occupancy, and profitability. This position develops and maintains relationships with key clients, meeting planners, travel professionals, and community partners while ensuring exceptional service throughout the sales process.
Working closely with Revenue Management, Operations, Marketing, Catering, and Front Office, the Senior Sales Manager develops strategic business opportunities that align with the resort's financial goals and guest experience standards.
Essential ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development- Prospect and secure new group, corporate, association, SMERF, and leisure business.
- Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients through proactive account management.
- Conduct sales calls, virtual presentations, and site inspections.
- Respond promptly to RFPs and inquiries.
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and concessions within established guidelines.
- Develop annual sales plans and market strategies.
- Participate in trade shows, networking events, and industry associations.
- Identify emerging market opportunities and competitive trends.
Revenue Management- Collaborate with Revenue Management to maximize ADR, occupancy, and RevPAR.
- Evaluate business opportunities based on profitability and displacement analysis.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and booking pace.
- Monitor production reports and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
Client Relations- Serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts.
- Coordinate site visits and familiarization tours.
- Ensure seamless transition from sales to operations.
- Maintain high client satisfaction and repeat business.
- Resolve client concerns professionally and promptly.
Internal Collaboration- Partner with Catering, Events, Front Office, Marketing, and Operations to execute group business successfully.
- Participate in weekly sales strategy meetings.
- Assist in developing promotional campaigns and packages.
- Support resort-wide initiatives and brand standards.
Administrative Duties- Maintain accurate CRM and sales system records.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, and correspondence.
- Track production against budget and sales goals.
- Submit weekly activity reports and monthly forecasts.
- Maintain complete account histories and documentation.
Leadership Expectations- Demonstrate professionalism and integrity.
- Mentor junior sales team members as appropriate.
- Foster collaboration across departments.
- Promote a culture of exceptional guest service.
- Represent the resort positively within the community.
QualificationsRequired- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of hotel or resort sales experience.
- Proven success in group and corporate sales.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred- Resort experience.
- Marriott sales systems experience (CI/TY, MarRFP, or related platforms).
- Knowledge of Jackson Hole, mountain destinations, or outdoor tourism markets.
- Experience with Delphi, Synexis, or similar sales systems.
