The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for the direction and facilitation of identifying strategies to increase top-line revenue performance through direct sales efforts while meeting weekly sales call activity and booking goals. This position is a
remote sales position. The candidate is expected to have experience is remote Hospitality Sales and will become the resident expert as it relates to the competition, market segments, potential clients and market conditions of the defined market.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop strategies and initiatives for increasing Sales from all market segments on an annual basis.
- Identifying, prospecting, and closing new business opportunities
- Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone prospecting, in-person outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Sales Team members with less Hospitality Sales experience.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with clients for assigned market segments
- Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current and potential clients.
- Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented; track all proactive, self-initiated, daily contact to potential clients via in-person visits, telephone calls, and written correspondence in accordance with company standards and expectations.
- Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.
- Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
- Prepare information for, meet with and entertain clients as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account.
- Represent the hotel in all appropriate hospitality and community networking events.
- Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to all departments in the hotel to ensure high quality of service to customers.
Requirements- Ability to work remotely, meeting goals and quotas with minimal supervision.
- Documentable five (5) plus years of regional Hospitality experience within the Sales arena
- Documentable and proven track record of a minimum of three (3) years of maintained high closing ratios in Hospitality Sales.
- Demonstratable in-person selling techniques and methods
- Proficiency in prospecting organizations or geographic regions for potential business
- Established, and transferable, Hospitality Industry "book of business".
- Ability to travel as requested to regional accounts, trade shows, networking events and the host property
- Strong understanding of Hospitality CRM Software with ability to mentor others.
- Exceptional service and customer relations skills with ability to foster effective relationships with staff, management, and clients
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate ideas and concepts
- Proficient in computers including, but not limited to Microsoft Office programs, internet search, social media and sales management systems
- Contracting and negotiating expertise
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills along with a focus on exceptional customer service skills
- Interact with the public with a cheerful and positive attitude, solve guest problems and complaints in a proper manner, and maintain harmonious working relationships with fellow employees.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEFourth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
