Full Job Description
We're looking for a Senior Safety Specialist (EHS) to lead safety performance across multiple projects our Building Envelope Team located in Alexandria, VA.

In this role, you'll drive a proactive safety culture, partner with operations leadership, and ensure compliance across diverse job sites.

This is a high-impact role for a safety professional who thrives in the field, influences teams at all levels, and uses data to continuously improve safety outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion a strong, proactive safety culture across projects and teams
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, field teams, and leadership
  • Reinforce safety expectations and proactively address risks

๐Ÿ”น Drive EHS Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and implement site-specific EHS plans (PTPs, Confined Space, LOTO, etc.)
  • Lead safety program execution across multiple projects or branch locations
  • Ensure alignment with company standards and client requirements

๐Ÿ”น Ensure Compliance & Provide Expertise
  • Interpret and apply OSHA and other regulatory standards
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for safety compliance and best practices
  • Communicate complex safety requirements clearly to field teams

๐Ÿ”น Incident Management & Risk Reduction
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses
  • Oversee claims processes and ensure accurate reporting
  • Identify trends and implement corrective actions

  • Deliver hands-on safety training and jobsite demonstrations
  • Mentor junior safety professionals and field personnel
  • Contribute to development of training programs as a subject matter expert

  • Conduct audits and field assessments across multiple locations
  • Analyze safety data and communicate insights to leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and standardize best practices


What We're Looking For:
  • Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Emergency Response, or related field OR equivalent experience
  • 3-7 years of progressive construction safety experience
  • Experience supporting multiple projects or branch-level operation
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and structural systems
  • Proven ability to manage safety across multiple projects

Certifications (Preferred):
  • CSP, ASP, or GSP
  • CHST or OHST
  • OSHA 30 (or equivalent)
  • Competent Person training (Fall Protection, Confined Space, Excavation, etc.)
