Full Job Description
Peerless Technologies is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to support the F-22 Program Office located at Hill Air Force Base, UT. The F-22 Program Office is a fast-paced environment supporting a broad array of Divisions and Branches supporting the F-22 Raptor Fleet. You will interface with various government and military stakeholders, including the Weapon System Prime Contractor, and provide Safety Manager support for the F-22 Sustainment Branch, in support of the F-22 Program Office mission.

The successful candidate will support the F-22 Program by providing the following skills/activities in support of F-22 Safety operations; you will:
  • Perform system safety engineering services in support of the acquisition, sustainment, modification, maintenance, upgrade, and modernization of Government approved F-22 systems or sub-systems.
  • Perform analysis of, or recommend changes to, technical guidance, safety notifications, test plans, safety taskers, specification data, safety critical function processes, critical safety items and aviation-critical safety item listings,
  • Additionally, assist with subject matter related reports, safety assessment reports, hazard worksheets and memoranda, hazard analyses, system safety program plans, system safety group meeting minutes, mishap guides, USAF mishap reports and statistics, mishap recommendations, technical input for program requirements (e.g., specifications), and USAF deviations and waivers.
  • Provide Safety Investigation Board (SIB) technical support for aircraft mishaps to aid in establishing root cause. This work will include developing and executing a SIB technical support plan with coordination to the OEM Aircraft Prime/subcontractors and the Air Force Safety Center. Additionally, the contractor will assist in management and implementation of safety investigation recommendations.
  • Support the F-22 Division in the performance of disciplined engineering activities to assure Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) for all products.

REQUIREMENTS
  • General Experience requirements:
    • Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD
    • OR, Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD
    • OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight of which must be in the DoD.
  • Specific Experience requirements:
    • Ten years of systems safety experience with a demonstrated knowledge of DoD acquisition/acquisition Program Office processes
      • Relevant commercial aircraft program experience will also be considered
    • An undergraduate or graduate degree with a major in engineering from a college or university with an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET)
      • If absent an engineering degree, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of
  • Clearance requirements:
    • Secret Clearance, and able to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility if required.
