Position SummaryThe Senior Revenue Accountant will play a key role in ensuring complete and accurate revenue accounting in accordance with applicable accounting standards. This individual will work cross-functionally with FP&A, Sales, and Operations to support the growing business and effectively communicate financial results.
This role requires a strong understanding of US GAAP and financial analysis, and the ability to communicate with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and record journal entries related to revenue, deferred revenue, and related accounts
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities, including reconciliations and variance analysis
- Perform monthly and quarterly analytical reviews to ensure revenue and related accounts are recorded accurately and in accordance with accounting standards
- Maintain a strong understanding of the order-to-cash process and how business operations impact revenue recognition
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Sales, Operations, Product Management, and Legal to ensure appropriate accounting treatment
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, including execution of key SOX controls and documentation of processes
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations
- Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements
- Maintain understanding and assist with order management process as needed
- Assist with ad hoc analyses and projects as needed
Skills & Qualifications- BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, or a related business discipline
- CPA license or progress towards CPA preferred
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field; 2-5 years of experience preferred
- Experience working for a publicly traded company or in public accounting preferred
- Prior ASC 606 experience preferred
- Strong financial acumen and ability to interpret and communicate financial results
- Strong interpersonal, writing, and communication skills
- Collaborative, proactive, and detail-oriented
Additional Information- Location: This is a hybrid position with work-from-home days and onsite days at our Burlington, MA headquarters
- Compensation: The annualized base pay range for this position at the commencement of employment is expected to be between $75,000 and $95,000 per year/per hour; the base pay offered may vary depending on several individualized factors, including market location, job-related skills, and experience. This position may also be eligible to receive additional compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission, or long-term incentives.
