ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead construction project delivery team towards client-defined success
- Coordinate and communicate with various project stakeholders
- Composure and diplomatic problem solving
- Analyze applicable codes, standards, and specifications for compliance
- Supervise general field inspection of Road and Bridge Construction including measurement, calculation, and reporting of installed quantities
- Oversee materials sampling and testing schedules
- Monitor and analyze progress of contractor's work
- Maintain various reports
- Mentor and lead inspection team
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE EXPECTATIONS:- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or similar discipline from an accredited college or university
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois
- 10+ years' experience working with Chicago DOT, IDOT, Illinois Tollway, or comparable transportation agencies
- Proven ability to lead successful teams, internally and externally
- Proven ability to build effective business relationships
- Certifications, including IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities
- Transportation design and constructability review experience is a plus
- Experience on transit and/or utility projects is a plus
- Coachable and a sense of humor
- Comfortable taking initiative and exercising professional judgement
Salary Range: $130,000 - $180,000. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
