Senior Remarketing Specialist - Asset Management

The Senior Remarketing Specialist is responsible for managing the disposition of off-lease and repossessed equipment supporting an assigned business unit. The Senior Remarketing Specialist will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to maximize the recovery value of the equipment, minimize costs, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. The Senior Remarketing Specialist will also perform market research, evaluate equipment conditions, negotiate with buyers and sellers, implement the appropriate remarketing strategy, transportation and logistics, Inventory audits and prepare reports and documentation as required.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement effective remarketing strategies for off-lease and repossessed equipment.
  • Evaluate and appraise equipment for resale, considering factors such as age, condition, and market supply and demand.


  • Establish and negotiate agreements with Service Provider Companies who perform inspections, rigging, transportation, storage, repairs, and sales.
  • Maintain relationships with dealers, auction houses, brokers, and other sales channels and provide efficient and practical recovery territories to provide adequate coverage in support of the Business Unit.


  • Collaborate with the Asset Management team to forecast residual collateral values and potential market risks.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders in the relevant equipment industry, attending industry conferences and trade shows to build networks, stay ahead of trends, and bring innovative remarketing strategies back to the business.
  • Manage and monitor lease returns to ensure equipment is received in a timely manner and in compliance with our Maintenance and Return Provisions.
  • Proactively manage returned equipment that is non-compliant with the return/maintenance provisions as required by the contract.
  • Manage the billing and collection of all repair costs and annual hour overage charges.
  • Prepare reports on Inventory, expenses, and sales results.
  • Function as the subject matter expert in remarketing during meetings with senior management, providing key insights, trends, and strategies that will inform larger business decisions.
  • Advocate for sustainability initiatives by recommending environmentally conscious methods of equipment disposal, refurbishment, or reuse, aligning with company ESG goals.
  • Develop and implement KPIs and metrics to measure and monitor the performance of remarketing activities, using these insights to continuously refine strategies and improve profitability.
  • Identify industry and trigger events where the residual values may not be recoverable and recommend to management what corrective actions are necessary to limit or eliminate such risks.
  • Manage the annual portfolio residual adequacy review process FMV transactions and make recommended impairments if needed.
  • Create and oversee training programs for junior remarketing specialists and team members, ensuring that the team is knowledgeable in market trends, negotiation techniques, and equipment valuation best practices
  • Drive technology adoption by identifying and integrating new remarketing platforms, data analytics tools, and CRM systems to improve tracking, forecasting, and overall efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze post-sale outcomes to identify patterns and insights that can improve future remarketing efforts, including customer preferences, geographical demand, and equipment performance after resale.
  • From time-to-time special projects may be assigned on an as needed basis and provide back-up for new evaluations requests.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ Years of experience in equipment leasing and finance industry is required, preferably within Asset Management related disciplines.


  • Advanced understanding of equipment remarketing tactics and strategies, with in-depth knowledge of market trends, valuation methodologies, and sales channel optimization.


  • Identify and make recommendations to Asset Management leadership on what disposition strategy we should use repossessions to optimize collateral recoveries and minimize expenses.


  • Excellent negotiation, communication skills, critical thinking skills, ability to work in a team environment.


  • Ability to analyze market data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Especially highly proficient with advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, macros, data analysis tools) and strong experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) and CRM/ERP systems.


  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, work as part of a team.
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex market data, generate actionable insights, and influence decision-making at the senior management level.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with a proven ability to drive process improvement projects and manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term objectives with long-term company goals, including sustainability initiatives and new market expansion opportunities.


Physical: Ability to travel as needed to inspect equipment, Inventory reviews, training and meet with potential buyers.

This is a hybrid position, based in our Mt. Laurel, NJ office, three days a week, with two days remote.
