Full Job Description
Job Summary
As a Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist for the Pet Care team , you will be partnering across marketing, R&D, supply chain, and other key functions to bring new innovations to market while ensuring product compliance. This role contributes directly to company growth and profitability, managing regulatory risk, helping protect our freedom to operate, and ultimately supports Spectrum Brands success.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as vital member within our new product development teams ensuring innovations successfully reach the market on time and in compliance
  • Technical expertise in SDS authoring, product labelling, claims substantiation, and product registrations covering regulations like GHS, CPSC, ECCC, EPA FIFRA, DOT, and OSHA.
  • Actively monitor and effectively communicate key regulatory knowledge, trends, and risks that could impact our products
  • Fully adopt the culture of process documentation, optimization, and consistent execution
  • Model the Spectrum Brands eight Core Capability to achieve service excellence, meet and exceed organizational objectives and support fiscal responsibility

Education and Experience Profile
  • Role not eligible for sponsorship
  • B.S. or B.A. in chemistry, biology or related field OR 5 years of equivalent experience required
  • 3+ years of experience in regulatory affairs required
  • 1+ year of experience authoring Safety Data Sheets strongly preferred

Required Skills
  • Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal, executed across multiple layers of an organization
  • Demonstrated success leveraging regulations in the chemical, pesticide, and/or cleaning products space to enable both compliance and successful product launches
  • Ability to both work in the details, but also develop and execute regulatory business strategies
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Adapts well to change and evolving priorities
  • Works well within regulatory processes, documentation management systems, and managing multiple projects at once
  • Ability to support formulation activities, raw material reviews, and R&D study design

Work Environment
This position is a hybrid role. Hybrid role offers work from home flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.
