Full Job Description
Are you an experienced engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and wants to make a meaningful impact in Sports Medicine? Join our Global R&D team in Mansfield, Massachusetts, where you will play a key role in sustaining and advancing innovative medical devices that help patients regain mobility and improve quality of life. Working across some of our fastest growing product portfolios, you will combine technical expertise, collaboration, and leadership to shape products used in shoulder, hip, and knee repair procedures.

What will you be doing?
  • Lead and execute sustaining engineering and product support activities for Sports Medicine medical devices.
  • Analyze product designs and physical systems using empirical, numerical, and experimental engineering methods.
  • Identify and mitigate design and product risks while ensuring compliance with applicable medical device regulations and design controls.
  • Develop test methods, perform testing of complex mechanical systems, and support preclinical and clinical evaluations.
  • Investigate technical issues, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions to improve product performance and reliability.
  • Lead medium scale projects and collaborate with cross functional teams to support product development, transfers, and manufacturing readiness activities.
  • Contribute to innovation through product design, prototype development, intellectual property support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build strong partnerships across the organization and communicate effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels.


What will you need to be successful?
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience within the medical device industry.
  • Knowledge and practical application of medical device regulations and design controls, including ISO, GMP, FDA, and CE requirements.
  • Strong mechanical design expertise with CAD proficiency. Finite Element Analysis experience is a plus.
  • Experience leading projects or engineering initiatives with the ability to influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% as required, including occasional international travel.

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $101,500.00 - $152,250.00 USD annually and the compensation offered will depend on the candidate's qualifications, job-related knowledge/skills, geographical location. You will be entitled to receive bonus and benefits, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, tuition reimbursement, medical leave programs, and a variety of wellness offerings.
