Full Job Description
Senior Quality Engineer As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will serve as a technical and cultural leader within the plant's Quality organization, aligning internal processes with customer expectations while driving sustainable improvement. • Champion safety-first behaviors and embed "fail-safe" thinking into quality routines • Translate the Voice of the Customer into actionable improvement targets (Claims, NCRs, NQC). • Lead and own the 8D problem-solving process, ensuring depth, rigor, and long-term prevention. • Analyze quality metrics, trends, and leading indicators to drive strategic improvement roadmaps. • Partner with Process Engineering, Production, and OpEx teams on defect-reduction initiatives. • Conduct statistical analysis to identify root causes and guide data-driven countermeasures. • Serve as a quality systems gatekeeper, ensuring compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory standards. • Support and coordinate internal audits and post-corrective-action verification. • Lead cross-functional quality projects without direct authority, influencing outcomes through expertise. • Coach and mentor others in quality tools, methods, and mindset. • Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Quality Manager. • Promote deployment and sustainability of the Drive+ Quality Technical System. What Sets You Apart We're looking for a confident quality leader with strong technical depth and the ability to influence at all levels: • Minimum 10 years of manufacturing quality experience, preferably in heavy industry or steel. • Deep working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (SPC, FMEA, 8D, Six Sigma). • Strong analytical capability, including statistical data analysis. • Experience driving quality improvements across cross-functional teams. • Hands-on knowledge of quality management systems and compliance standards. • Ability to clearly communicate, coach, and motivate others. • Proven ability to lead through influence rather than authority. • Self-driven, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
