Full Job Description
Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to provide advanced support for planning, implementing and maintenance of quality assurance/control programs for the Substation Division (SSD).

This position is a hybrid position based in Warrendale, PA.

What You'll Do:
  • Monitor quality processes within SSD, identify quality and efficiency gaps and recommend and execute changes as necessary. Lead resolution and improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate supplier, subcontractor, field installation, and production quality issues and implement improvements to meet SSD quality goals.
  • Lead the resolution of deficiencies and develop root cause and corrective action summaries for broad categories of Incident Reports (IRs) and Non-Conformance reports (NCRs) to reduce rework and warranty costs. Facilitate related communication and resolution with MELCO, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure SSD maintains ISO 9001 certification by identifying and directing internal and external audits, identifying deficiencies, implementing corrections, and making all arrangements for recertification.
  • Plan and execute supplier qualification activities for products and services including supplier audits, attending factory acceptance tests, and reviewing supplier quality documents.
  • Review bid and project specifications and documentation as related to quality to ensure SSD's ability to comply. Develop and make change recommendations as necessary.
  • Perform job site safety and quality audits. Prepare and deliver reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Prepare/review inspection and test plans with internal departments, customers and vendors.
  • Participate in and lead design reviews, lessons learned and turnover meetings.
  • Fill in for Quality and Advisory Manager as necessary.
  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Division by professionally representing the Company at customer locations and through interaction with other MEPPI Departments and vendors.
  • Know MEPPI's Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum 7 years of experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing or project environment, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of quality control, engineering, production, and statistical methods and techniques.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication and presentation skills required to communicate with customers, employees and suppliers.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and material.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, with emphasis on Microsoft Office products and business systems.
