Full Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Senior Quality Engineer is a recognized subject‑matter expert and quality leader responsible for ensuring products consistently meet or exceed established quality, reliability, and regulatory standards throughout their lifecycle. This role goes beyond execution and investigation to include strategic thinking, cross‑functional influence, and company‑wide quality decision‑making.

The Senior Quality Engineer proactively drives quality into product design, manufacturing, and supplier processes while also leading complex customer‑facing quality issues, systemic failure investigations, and enterprise‑level corrective and preventative action (CAPA) initiatives. Acting as a mentor, trainer, and advisor, this role establishes best practices, develops organizational capability, and ensures lessons learned are institutionalized across current and future product lines.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex, high‑impact investigations involving customer escalations, systemic field failures, RMAs, and critical non‑conformances using advanced problem‑solving methodologies (8D, 5‑Why, Fishbone, DOE, statistical analysis).
  • Influence and support company‑wide quality decisions by translating field data, failure trends, and customer feedback into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Partner with leadership across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Professional Services to align quality objectives with business goals.
  • Drive fact‑based decision‑making and ensure root causes are fully understood, documented, and validated prior to closure.
  • Review and verify quality investigations, containment actions, and CAPA effectiveness for lower‑level investigations led by others.
  • Act as the primary quality interface for strategic customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders during significant quality events.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams through resolution of critical quality issues, ensuring accountability, timely execution, and sustainable outcomes.
  • Support customer communications by clearly articulating technical findings, risks, and corrective actions at both operational and leadership levels.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of quality standards, procedures, control plans, and best practices.
  • Develop and deliver training on quality tools, structured problem solving, and investigation best practices to production, engineering, and quality personnel.
  • Act as a go‑to resource and escalation point for complex or ambiguous quality challenges.
