Responsibilities

  • Design, build, validate, and maintain standardized and ad hoc reports from:
    o Electronic Health Records (EHR)
    o RLDatix safety and risk management platform
    o Financial systems
    o Clinical registries
    o Benchmarking and regulatory databases
  • Develop automated reporting workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual data manipulation.
  • Build complex SQL queries or equivalent data extraction processes to integrate multi-source datasets.
  • Establish and maintain data dictionaries, metric definitions, and governance standards to ensure enterprise data consistency.
  • Maintain data quality controls and audit processes for performance and safety reporting.
  • Serve as primary system administrator and subject matter expert for RLDatix modules, including:
    o Patient Safety Event Reporting
    o Risk Management
    o Peer Review
    o Feedback and Complaints Management
    o Policy and Document Management
    o Audit and Compliance Monitoring
  • Configure workflows, forms, dictionaries, user roles, and reporting structures to support organizational safety and regulatory goals.
  • Manage system upgrades, enhancements, and vendor coordination.
  • Maintain system performance, reliability, and data accuracy.
  • Lead governance and standardization of safety event taxonomies and reporting structures.
  • Partner with quality and clinical leadership to optimize event reporting workflows and improve reporting adoption.
  • Support integration of RLDatix data into enterprise analytics platforms and data warehouses.
  • Design and develop interactive dashboards using platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent visualization tools.
  • Create executive-level dashboards aligned to enterprise strategic priorities, KPIs, and board reporting requirements.
  • Develop service-line, departmental, and unit-level dashboards to support real-time operational decision-making.
  • Ensure dashboards incorporate trend analysis, benchmark comparisons, targets and thresholds, and statistical process control indicators.
  • Provide education and training to leaders and staff regarding dashboard interpretation and data literacy.
  • Develop and maintain visual management boards (digital and physical) displaying key quality, safety, throughput, and financial performance metrics.
  • Partner with frontline teams to align visual management tools with unit-based goals and improvement initiatives.
  • Support tiered huddle and performance review structures by ensuring accurate and timely performance data availability.
  • Design visual analytic tools including control charts, run charts, heat maps, and trend dashboards.
  • Standardize visual reporting frameworks across departments to promote organizational transparency and accountability.
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, and PDSA improvement initiatives through development of robust measurement plans.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and identify performance gaps using advanced data analysis techniques.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs related to CMS Star Ratings, Vizient benchmarks, NHSN metrics, Patient Safety Indicators, Value-Based Purchasing programs, and patient safety indicators, and risk event trends.
  • Provide analytical support for cost reduction, operational efficiency, and revenue enhancement initiatives.
  • Develop sustainability monitoring tools to ensure long-term performance improvement.
  • Prepare, validate, and submit data for external reporting requirements including CMS, NHSN, Vizient, Leapfrog, NSQIP, and other external entities.
  • Monitor organizational performance against national benchmarks and peer institutions.
  • Support accreditation and survey readiness through accurate and timely reporting.
  • Assist leadership with financial impact modeling related to quality performance and regulatory measures.
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical operations, quality departments, information technology, and executive leadership.
  • Provide RLDatix training, user onboarding, and ongoing system education.
  • Develop workflow documentation, training materials, and system user guides.
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary committees and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Translate complex analytics into actionable recommendations for operational and executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience developing dashboards, reporting automation, and visual management systems.
  • RLDatix platform administration and workflow configuration
  • Advanced SQL and database querying
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (Power Query, advanced formulas, pivot tables)
  • Data visualization tools including Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms
  • Automated reporting and ETL workflow development
  • EHR reporting tools and healthcare data warehouse environments
  • Statistical process control and healthcare quality measurement methodologies
  • Data governance, validation, and regulatory reporting standards
  • Microsoft Office and collaboration platforms
  • Certifications (Preferred)
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)
  • Healthcare Risk Management or Patient Safety certification preferred
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and performance improvement methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, Nursing, Information Systems, or related field and 2 years of healthcare data analytics, quality improvement, or performance measurement experience. Required
