Job SummaryClient is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to support a technology initiative for US Bank in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks, developing robust test scripts, and working closely with development, product, and business teams in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for web and API-based applications.
- Build and enhance scalable automation frameworks using modern QA automation tools and technologies.
- Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and automation suites.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Automate API testing and validate backend services and data.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with development teams to drive issues through resolution.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other QA engineers to understand requirements and identify test scenarios.
- Perform root-cause analysis of test failures and production issues.
- Contribute to QA standards, automation best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and provide technical guidance on automation practices.
Required Qualifications- 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and/or other modern UI automation tools.
- Strong programming experience in Java, Python, or a similar language; Java preferred.
- Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks from the ground up.
- Strong experience with API testing using tools such as REST Assured, Postman, or equivalent.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and database validation.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong experience with Git and source-control practices.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, defect management, and QA processes.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working in the banking or financial services industry.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
- Experience with JUnit/TestNG.
- Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with performance or load testing tools.
- Knowledge of microservices and distributed application architectures.
- Experience with test management and defect-tracking tools such as Jira.
EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
