Job Title: Senior Purchasing SpecialistJob DescriptionThe Senior Purchasing Specialist partners with engineering and manufacturing to translate technical requirements into effective sourcing strategies. This role leads procurement for complex, high-value commodities, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery goals are achieved while supporting new product development and driving supplier performance across a global network.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to define sourcing needs
- Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers for quality, cost, and delivery
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for complex materials and services
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms
- Support new product development and production timelines
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement and cost optimization initiatives
- Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and sustainability goals
- Manage purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records (SAP)
- Resolve supply issues and mitigate risks with cross-functional teams
Essential Skills- 5+ years in procurement, preferably in manufacturing
- Strong contract negotiation and sourcing experience
- Ability to work with technical specifications and cross-functional teams
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with global sourcing and supplier management
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as SPSM (Senior Professional in Supply Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).
- Experience with international suppliers and sustainability practices
