East Hawaii Medical Group is seeking a highly motivated and effective Senior Provider Recruiter to lead physician and advanced practice provider recruitment efforts across a growing multi-specialty medical group affiliated with Hilo Benioff Medical Center, Honoka'a Hospital and Ka'u Hospital on Hawai'I Island. As the sole dedicated provider recruiter for EHMG, this strategic role is responsible for managing a full-cycle recruitment portfolio of 25-30 searches, developing innovative sourcing strategies, building national candidate pipelines, and partnering with provider leadership to attract top clinical talent.

Location: This position allows for a hybrid (remote/in office) work environment, with a requirement for an incumbent living outside of Hilo to work on-site at HBMC at regular intervals throughout the year (approximately four times per year for visits of approximately one week each). Additionally, the incumbent will be required to visit an average of four to six conferences or career fairs per year. Travel expenses will be paid for by the organization, in accordance with our policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for physicians and advanced practice providers, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, candidate presentation, offer negotiation, and onboarding support
  • Develop and execute proactive recruitment strategies utilizing direct sourcing, networking, residency programs, conferences, professional associations, digital marketing, and third-party search firms
  • Serve as the primary recruitment advisor to provider leadership, creating recruitment profiles, workforce plans, market and compensation analyses, and sourcing strategies for each search
  • Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines and long-term relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, residency programs, fellowship programs, and healthcare organizations nationwide
  • Manage recruitment marketing initiatives, including job postings, websites, social media campaigns, promotional materials, videos, and candidate communications that showcase EHMG and Hawai'i Island
  • Analyze and regularly report on recruitment metrics, workforce trends, provider supply data, and market intelligence to develop recommendations that support recruitment, retention, and workforce planning efforts

Experience, Education, Certifications, and Licensure:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, Biology, Marketing, or a related field strongly preferred
    • Additional provider recruitment experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis
    • A master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of required experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of recruitment or talent acquisition experience required
  • Minimum two (2) years of physician and/or advanced practice provider recruitment experience required
  • Experience recruiting difficult-to-fill specialty positions in remote locations and in high demand specialties such as cardiology, gastroenterology and hematology-oncology
  • Experience managing recruitment agencies, physician search firms, recruitment marketing campaigns, and contract negotiations preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Professional certifications such as CPRP, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or related credentials are desirable

Pre-Employment Health Requirements

Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes a drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
