Description
We're seeking an experienced
Senior Project Scientist to lead complex
flow assurance laboratory projects, provide technical direction, and ensure the delivery of high-quality customer solutions from our
Katy, TX facility.
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned flow assurance professional to help solve critical production challenges involving hydrates, paraffin, asphaltenes, scale, and other flow-restriction risks. This role combines laboratory testing, modeling, technical consulting, and practical risk-mitigation support for complex production systems, including deep-water and subsea operations.
What You'll Do- Plan, prioritize, schedule, and coordinate flow assurance laboratory projects, including scope, assignments, timelines, and deliverables
- Ensure project work meets requirements for quality, accuracy, timeliness, and format
- Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned customers and communicate project requirements, progress, findings, and recommendations
- Lead customer meetings, define scopes of work, and prepare technical requests, cost estimates, and supporting documentation
- Review laboratory data, calculations, reports, and deliverables for QA/QC and resolve concerns before final delivery
- Provide technical direction and guidance to laboratory personnel, including prioritizing, scheduling, and reviewing work
- Perform and support flow assurance testing involving hydrates, paraffin, asphaltenes, scale, and other production challenges, including data processing, troubleshooting, experimental design, method customization, and R&D as needed
- Provide modeling and technical consulting support for deep-water production systems, subsea tiebacks, and related laboratory and engineering projects
- Analyze laboratory and modeling data to develop practical conclusions, recommendations, and flow assurance solutions
- Prepare and deliver professional technical reports, presentations, and customer-facing materials
- Maintain project records and coordinate related purchasing, supply orders, expense reporting, and administrative documentation
- Attend industry conferences, symposiums, customer meetings, and other professional events, presenting technical information as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What We're Looking For- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering, or a related engineering or scientific field; Graduate-level degree with 5-7 years of relevant experience may be considered
- 7-10 years of hands-on experience supporting upstream energy production projects, including flow assurance, laboratory testing, analytical instrumentation, engineering design, multiphase flow, and modeling
- Demonstrated success leading technical projects, prioritizing work, mentoring teams, and delivering high-quality results on schedule
- Deep-water or subsea production experience, including flow assurance risk assessment, chemical testing and selection, or production support, preferred
- Prior experience with fluid characterization software and OLGA or comparable transient multiphase flow modeling platforms strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other comparable data-processing software
- Proven ability to analyze complex technical data, develop sound conclusions and recommendations, and prepare and deliver professional reports and presentations

Work Schedule & Travel- Full-time, on-site position
- Ability to work outside of scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed to meet or support project deadlines
