Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Operating Engineer to join our team. The Operating Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the NMP cathode cell Solvent Recovery Plant (SRP), water treatment for anode solvent, Centralized Electrolyte Storage System (CESS), and Hot Oil Boiler processes. Boilers for hydronic heating, Chilled Water and Compressed Air oversight of third-party operator. This position is responsible for coordinating daily operations, supporting production schedules, maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and facilitating communication between departments to optimize plant performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Coordination:
• Assist Operations Manager and Shift Supervisors with manpower planning, scheduling, workflow management, daily plant operations, process adjustments, and TSSA regulatory testing.
• Assist Operations Manager and Shift Supervisors with monitoring material and product inventories, coordinating with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure adequate stock levels.
• Work with Operations Manager, Shift Supervisors, and technical staff to troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in planning plant shutdowns, startups, and turnarounds in collaboration with operations, maintenance, and production departments.
Capital Projects & Commissioning:
• Technical lead for process on capital projects with assistance of the Engineering department
• Develop and manage commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures. Manage pre-commissioning activities such as cleaning, pressure testing, flushing, calibration, and functional testing. Review P&IDs, commissioning documentation, vendor manuals, process safety interlocks, and engineering deliverables to verify readiness for commissioning.
• Oversee all commissioning activities across multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control, and system integration (e.g., DCS/PLC).
• Lead or support system walkdowns, punch list generation and clearance, and final handover documentation.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance:
• Ensure operations comply with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
• Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Promote a strong safety culture among operators and other staff.
• Develop systems that fit within the process safety management framework
Minimum Requirements:
• 1st, 2nd or 3rd class Operating/Stationary/Power Engineer Certification
• Proven operational, construction and commissioning experience of a process plant
• A valid G driver's license
