Purpose:Lead and manage engineering team execution on major/large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
Responsibilities:- Oversee multi-disciplinary engineering teams, coordinating across all engineering disciplines to deliver integrated and technically sound designs.
- Provide technical and leadership support throughout all phases of the project lifecycle-from project definition and proposal development to detailed engineering and commissioning.
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet applicable codes, standards, regulations (including EGBC), and client specifications.
- Interface regularly with project management, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure alignment and seamless project execution.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, mentoring engineers and supporting professional development.
- Act as a primary engineering point of contact for internal stakeholders, clients, and third parties.
What you will bring: Technical and Industry Experience: - 10-15 years of related experience practicing civil, marine or geotechnical engineering on large scale and/or complex projects.
- Professional experience in ports and marine terminal infrastructure is required. Cold weather/Arctic experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to present technical information, both written and verbally, in a concise and professional manner.
- A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated history of effective client engagement, relationships and management.
- Experience in preparing proposals and developing engineering and capital cost estimates.
- Demonstrated capability to conduct and supervise geotechnical engineering through field investigations to design, and train, mentor and develop junior and intermediate staff.
- Strong level of commercial acumen, including cash collection, workshare, change management and contract review and management.
- Self-starter, flexible team player, willing and able to work on a wide variety of tasks and to coordinate staff.
Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Required: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus appropriate continuing education in civil/geotechnical engineering, or equivalent.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
