Summary

We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to help lead and expand our Water, Wastewater, and Water Resources practice in Austin. In this role, you'll lead multidisciplinary teams, build strong client partnerships, and deliver complex infrastructure projects while mentoring staff, driving continuous improvement, and contributing to the strategic growth of our Central Texas practice. You'll be responsible for ensuring exceptional technical quality, client satisfaction, and strong financial performance across your portfolio of projects.

Our team provides planning, design, and construction-phase services for a wide range of municipal infrastructure projects-from wastewater facilities and collection system improvements to drinking water facilities, water distribution systems, and stormwater/drainage systems.

Beyond delivering successful projects, you'll play an important role in developing the next generation of engineers by fostering a collaborative learning environment where team members are challenged, supported, and given opportunities to grow. You'll also help strengthen project delivery by identifying efficiencies, sharing best practices, and championing continuous improvement across our team.

This is an opportunity to lead meaningful infrastructure projects, build lasting client relationships, mentor talented professionals, and play a key role in expanding HR Green's presence throughout Central Texas.

  • Conduct project kickoff and regular coordination meetings to align project teams, communicate priorities, and ensure accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Proactively monitor project performance, identify potential risks or inefficiencies, and implement solutions that improve project delivery.
  • Manage scope changes, contract amendments, and change orders while protecting project profitability and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Continuously evaluate project workflows and delivery processes to identify opportunities for greater efficiency, consistency, and improved project outcomes.

Client Management
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients by understanding their needs and consistently delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional services that support clients' current and future infrastructure goals.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for client technical staff and support strategic client management efforts alongside senior leadership.
  • Represent HR Green at client meetings, council sessions, committee meetings, and public presentations as needed.

Business Development
  • Represent the firm in client interactions and help strengthen HR Green's presence within the Central Texas market.
  • Assist in identifying, tracking, and pursuing new project opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed business development goals by expanding existing client relationships and winning new work.
  • Lead proposal development efforts, coordinate with marketing and technical staff, and participate in interview preparation and presentations.
  • Support strategic pursuits and contribute to long-term market growth initiatives.

Team Leadership
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing project teams by aligning resources with project needs and individual strengths.
  • Create a collaborative learning environment by mentoring junior engineers and project staff, providing coaching, technical guidance, and opportunities for professional development.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively while balancing staff development with successful project delivery.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous improvement across project teams.
  • Lead project meetings, establish clear expectations, and foster accountability through proactive communication and follow-through.
  • Resolve conflicts constructively while maintaining positive working relationships among project team members, clients, and stakeholders.

Project Financial Management
  • Own the financial performance of assigned projects, including budgeting, forecasting, billing, profitability, and resource planning.
  • Regularly review project financial metrics to identify trends, mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions when needed.
