Dewberry Design-Builders Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC to support and help grow our design‑build practice across the Carolinas and Mid‑Atlantic.  This role will focus on Dewberry’s Water/Wastewater division but will have opportunity to expand into Energy, Federal, and MEPS infrastructure work in our growing Design-Build division. The role offers a hybrid schedule.

 

This role is ideal for a construction professional with strong project delivery experience who enjoys working on complex infrastructure projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and building relationships with clients and subcontractors across the region.

 

This role offers the opportunity to grow into a senior leadership position by expanding your responsibilities in project delivery, client engagement, and pursuit strategy within Dewberry’s design-build practice.

Responsibilities What You’ll Do
  • Support business development and pursuit efforts, including proposal preparation and preconstruction coordination
  • Lead construction planning, estimating, pricing, and execution for water/wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Manage day-to-day project activities across design and construction phases
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, field staff, and subcontractors
  • Support subcontractor identification, procurement, and contract administration
  • Review project contracts and assist in managing subcontract agreements and change orders
  • Partner with HSE teams to promote safety best practices across projects
  • Monitor project performance, including schedule, budget, quality, and risk
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Support collaboration across Dewberry offices and water practice teams
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • 10–15 years of experience in water/WWTP or related field involving construction of complex MEP intensive projects
  • Experience working on design‑build or alternative delivery projects is strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of project management fundamentals including scheduling, cost control, and contract administration
  • Exposure to subcontractor management and construction procurement processes
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and project partners
Nice to Have
  • Experience with municipal or industrial water/wastewater facilities
  • Familiarity with regional subcontractor and vendor networks in the Carolinas or Mid‑Atlantic
  • Experience supporting proposals or business development efforts

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $150,000 - $176,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
