Full Job Description
Summary
The Senior Project Manager is accountable to the Division Manager for the financial results and client satisfaction on multiple projects. Defines and is responsible for achievement of project SQP (Safety, Quality, Productivity) goals, contributes to the development and implementation of Division specific initiatives, develops co-workers and participates in the business planning and performance of Kent Concrete. Responsible for project safety through partnerships, implementation, and adherence to Kent Companies Hall Marks.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for generating and ensuring all project information is correct and timely.
  • Create the preliminary schedule for each project.
  • Perform project setup, including initial contract review, cost codes, and the preliminary budget.
  • Organize and set up logs for Master POs (MPOs) and POs to track all logged items and submittals.
  • Manage an organized and accurate takeoff for each project.
  • Collaborate with the Project Lead and other operational teams to develop a comprehensive project plan.
  • When necessary, communicate important information, solutions, and opportunities to the entire team.
  • Compile daily job cost reports to ensure costs and quantities align with the budget.
  • Create change orders based on a clear understanding of customer expectations.
  • Execute a detailed closeout of each project.
  • Contributes to the Pre-Construction Processes
  • Oversees Job Transition and Start-Up Process
  • Accountable for Cost and Schedule
  • Accountable for Project Cash Flow
  • Directs and/or Oversees Staff
  • Fosters Client Relationships
  • Oversees Generation and Submittal of Technical Records
  • Participates in the Development of Division and Project Plans and Achieves Results
  • Accountable for Project and Division Safety and for Risk Management Processes
  • Ensures a Safe Work Environment
  • Participates in Training/Certifications
  • Collaborates with the Pre-Construction, Safety, and other stakeholders in the project planning phase.

Required Experience, Education, and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and 10 years of construction experience or 14 years of construction-related experience.
  • 8 years of experience as a Project Manager in a similar discipline within our industry.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management and estimating for a large-scale self-performed GC or Concrete Contractor.
  • Self-performing experience of concrete is required.
  • Must have experience with various project types with an emphasis on Commercial/Structural/Multi-Family/Industrial concrete.
  • Knowledge of construction principles/practices required with experience on projects over 4 million dollars.
  • Previous experience with performing estimates, submitting bids, and generating proposals.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must have reliable transportation to the workplace(s)/ job location(s).
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check related to driving (for any driver)
  • Ability to pass drug screening.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Experience, Education, and Experience
Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering is preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Demand
This position works in an office environment; occasionally traveling to the field to supervise projects as required. This position requires long periods of sitting.

Position type, travel, and expected hours of work
This full-time office position requires travel to local job locations in and around Houston. Typical hours will range from 45 to 50 per week and are subject to change. This role requires working Saturdays and irregular hours based on construction schedules. Accepting phone calls even during nontypical workdays and hours is required.
