Full Job Description
What do you get to do in this position?
  • Oversee and monitor project engineering activities and deliverables for timely completion, schedule adherence and cost control, while ensuring project deliverables meet project requirements.
  • Identify problem areas or concerns and resolve these issues as needed.
  • Review project specifications for quality and accuracy.
  • Work with the design and manufacturing teams to execute projects within technical, cost and schedule requirements.
  • Develop and define project deliverables, along with key input from other departments, for defining the project schedule and establishing an agreed project milestone payment schedule.
  • Review required documentation deliverables.
  • May assist or lead in the development of system specifications, FAT and SAT documents.
  • Ensure system testing and factory acceptance test are performed according to quality standards.
  • Commit to project schedules and budgets and provide status documentation on projects.
  • Review project activities and identify potential change order or scope modifications as necessary. Develop and modify project budget activities for new and existing projects.
  • Ensure appropriate field startup and commissioning support where required.
  • Act as the main point of contact with customers.
  • Interface with customers on technical and contractual details.
  • Provide commercial leadership for projects and oversee the engineering of control solutions to project specifications.
  • Provides monthly project updates utilizing internal tools to report project schedule and financial status.


Routinely interface with engineering managers, project engineers, engineering technicians, sales marketing, proposals, finance and customer service groups and assist with pursuits as needed.

Job Complexity:

Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways.

Supervision:
  • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
  • Determine and develop approach to solutions.
  • May function as project lead or supervise/mentor other personnel.


What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • BS Degree in Engineering or associated field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of related experience in the industrial process controls and instrumentation field.
  • A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding and knowledge of industrial process controls and instrumentation including turbomachinery and safety instrumented systems is required.
