Job Description

Senior Project Manager
  • Location: Hybrid - Vancouver, BC (candidates must reside in the Vancouver Metropolitan Area)
  • Employment Type: Full Time
  • Reports to: Director of Project Management

Role Overview

Sacré-Davey is seeking an experienced Project Manager with experience in Mining to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in the delivery of capital mining and mineral processing projects.

In this role, you will manage projects across the full lifecycle - from early-stage studies and proposal development through detailed engineering, construction support, and commissioning. You will work closely with clients to define execution strategies, manage technical and commercial project risks, and ensure successful project outcomes.

The successful candidate will bring strong experience delivering mining and heavy industrial projects, including mineral processing facilities and related infrastructure.

Candidates should have experience contributing to or managing engineering inputs into NI 43-101 technical studies and be eligible to act as a Qualified Person (QP) or work closely with Qualified Persons responsible for technical reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership

  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams across engineering disciplines and geographic locations.
  • Establish project plans, objectives, risk frameworks, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely and successfully on schedule and within budget.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project engineers and technical staff.


2. Technical Expertise

  • Manage engineering delivery for capital mining and mineral processing projects, including greenfield and brownfield developments.
  • Support and manage engineering scopes for technical studies (PEA, PFS, FS), FEED, and detailed engineering.
  • Develop scope definitions, cost estimates, and execution strategies during proposal and study phases.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet quality standards and align with Sacré-Davey's Quality Management System.
  • Coordinate engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and technically sound project execution.


3. Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication.
  • Present project progress, execution strategies, and technical updates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate alignment between engineering teams, project sponsors, and external partners.
  • Manage scope changes and client expectations professionally and transparently.


4. Compliance and Standards

  • Ensure projects comply with applicable engineering codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee project phase reviews and ensure lessons learned are captured and implemented.
  • Contribute technical oversight to NI 43-101 compliant studies and documentation, where applicable.
  • Support technical review processes required for Qualified Person sign-off.


5. Strategic Contributions

  • Support business development through proposal preparation, scope definition, and effort estimation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project execution methodologies and client outcomes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Sacré-Davey's project management practices.
  • Support long-term client relationships within the mining sector.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Mining, or related discipline).
  • 15+ years of experience delivering capital projects in the mining or mineral processing sectors.
  • Proven experience managing major capital projects up to ~$200M TIC.
  • Experience supporting or managing technical study phases (PEA, PFS, FS).
  • Strong experience with project controls, scheduling (MS Project), budgeting, and cost forecasting.
  • Demonstrated success managing project risk, change management, and client relationships.
  • Experience contributing to NI 43-101 technical reports or technical studies.
  • Eligible to act as a Qualified Person (QP) under NI 43-101, or significant experience working closely with Qualified Persons.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and client locations as required.


Additional Assets

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with mineral processing plants, mine infrastructure, or large industrial facilities.
  • Site or construction management experience.
