You bring strong leadership capabilities, a proven track record delivering complex projects, and deep expertise in retail construction programmes.

You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-site delivery environment and can effectively manage stakeholders across geographically dispersed projects.

Job Description

You will lead all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation through to close-out, with full accountability for delivery. As a senior leader within the team, you will drive project strategy, mentor junior team members, and ensure best-in-class project execution.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will:
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple projects or programmes, particularly within retail construction environments, ensuring alignment with client objectives for cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance, proactive risk management, and value-driven solutions.
  • Oversee project planning, budgeting, and scheduling, ensuring robust controls and accurate forecasting.
  • Lead design, procurement, and construction phases, ensuring seamless coordination across all stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular site visits (including travel across regions) to monitor progress, ensure quality, and enforce safety and compliance standards.
  • Manage contractors, consultants, and vendors, enforcing contractual obligations under CCDC contracts, MSAs, and other agreements.
  • Lead procurement activities including tender strategy, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Drive risk identification, mitigation, and issue resolution, ensuring minimal impact on project delivery.
  • Oversee change management, cost control, and progress payments, ensuring financial accountability across projects.
  • Ensure comprehensive project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, deficiencies, and closeout packages.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to team development and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with internal leadership and contribute to client relationship management and business development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in retail construction (e.g., rollouts, store fit-outs, multi-site programmes) is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-site or fast-track projects and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building systems, and CCDC contract frameworks.
  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
  • Expertise in budget management, cost control, and commercial oversight.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MS Office; familiarity with project management and IWMS tools is an asset.
  • Experience with Smartsheet, Jira, or G Suite is an asset.
  • Degree or diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Professional designations (PMP, P.Eng, CET, Architectural Technologist, MRICS) are considered strong assets.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
