Position PurposeThe
Senior Project Manager (SPM) plays a vital role in advancing the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) by supporting the Senior Director, PMO and ensuring the successful execution of organizational projects. The Senior Project Manager (SPM) manages a complex portfolio of medium to large-scale projects that align with BBBSA's goals and strategic priorities, and they are responsible for implementing existing processes for system-level projects.
This role involves driving alignment, sequencing, and achieving outcomes on a large scale. The Senior Project Manager (SPM) focuses on coordinating across various functions to strengthen decision-making, monitor budgets, and track resources in collaboration with finance and departmental leaders, all to ensure the success of each project.

Travel:Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProject Management: Facilitate, coordinate, and manage a portfolio of existing and new projects which may include developing, controlling, and directing simultaneous multiple projects.
- Intake: follow process for evaluation of project from intake/project request, to review submission, to discovery and assessing scope of work, to initiation and defining, prioritizing, and scheduling.
- Execution: carry out all assigned projects to completion; complete the tasks and deliverables outlined in the project plan.
- Monitoring & Decision-Making: monitor and control the progress of the project; make and communicate necessary adjustments to keep the project on track.
- Close-out: ensure that all deliverables have been completed and accepted, and that all project activities have been properly documented and closed.
- Draft reports to BBBSA's senior leadership and model collaborative leadership for management of projects to achieve organizational goals and strategic clarity.
Project Governance: Manage projects through evaluation and analysis by gathering data for appropriate stakeholders and offering recommendations.
- Communication plan: Outline stakeholder engagement including information dissemination about project progress, issues, and decisions.
- Performance metrics: Track key performance metrics for each project, including project scope, schedule, budget, and quality, to effectively monitor project progress.
- Risk management: Ensure that potential risks to the project are identified and managed.
- Continuous improvement: Regularly review and recommend improvements to the project management program overall and the planning process.
- Change Management: Partner with cross-functional teams implementing plans designed by team and department leaders.
Cross-Collaboration: Co-manage cross-functional teams within BBBSA to complete assigned portfolio of projects.
Systems Coordination [Asana]: Co-design methodologies, work plans, and processes for specific projects.
- Facilitate meetings and discussion and gather relevant data to guide departments in timely completion of project milestones.
- Dashboard: Day-to-day management of the projects, aiding in identifying issues, and offering solutions where appropriate.
- Track key metrics focused on strategic priorities.
- Partnerships: Co-manage partnerships with the Senior Director where applicable to achieve project goals
- Perform additional duties as needed to support project success, business needs, and department goals.
People Management- Recruit, train, retain, and cultivate professional development of direct reports.
- Create a dynamic, supportive, and effective team that is impactful across the BBBSA and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Network.
- Lead and manage resources (people and capital) that retain and cultivate positive, measurable success.
- Monitor progress against performance targets; implements countermeasures as needed.

Education & Related Work ExperienceEducation Level: Bachelor's degree or related educational / professional certification equivalency, i.e., Project Management Certification preferred; In lieu of degree, candidate must have demonstrated, proven years of related work experience as outlined below.
Years of Related Work Experience: 5+ years professional leadership experience in project management. Youth development, education or nonprofit environment preferred, or equivalent corporate project management leadership. Advanced project management experience and capabilities. Ease in leading cross-functional teams, demonstrated ability to consistently meet tight deadlines in fast-paced environment.
Skills and Knowledge: Advanced skills in Asana, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Highly skilled in project management, process/system development and development of effective implementation strategies; Prior position in a Project management office; Change management experience; Excellent verbal and written communications skills; Superior customer service skills, including good listening, problem diagnosis, establishing priorities and ability to manage and bring complex and detailed issues to resolution; Highly organized in approach, with ability to set and manage priorities; Flexible and ability to adapt to change; Certified Project Management.
Remote Work Location Requirement: This position is approved for remote work within the Continental United States only.
