Full Job Description
Description

Nelson Pipeline is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager based out of the Fort Lupton, CO office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for oversight and overall coordination of multiple projects, ensuring projects are completed timely, on budget and in strong partnership with the client.

Project Oversight and Coordination:

  • Review and analyze project initiation documents such as Notice to Proceed (NTP), Notice of Award (NOA), or contracts


  • Ensure alignment with client agreements, approved plans, and accurate quotes matching scope and recent drawings


  • Perform takeoffs for quantities, reconcile quotes with vendors, and approve Purchase Orders (POs) and Subcontracts (SLs)


  • Identify and address scope gaps, if any


Schedule Management:

  • Develop and update baseline schedules incorporating estimated durations, preconstruction activities, submittal approvals, material procurement, and crew availability


  • Regularly update schedules based on field input, quantity verifications, and site visits


  • Incorporate impacts into schedules, and provide updated schedules to clients


  • Understand completion dates, deliverables, and retention release conditions


  • Change Order Management:


  • Forward price change orders when possible and obtain client approval


  • Manage Time and Material (T&M) efforts, track work separately, and communicate with clients for review and approval


Production Analysis:

  • Ensure accurate quantities in software systems and run reports for installed quantities, crew and equipment hours, and budget variances


  • Review actuals against estimated/budgeted, discuss results with the field team, and take necessary actions


Client Relations:

  • Maintain consistent verbal and documented communication with clients, addressing progress, impacts, change orders, and retention


  • Schedule regular meetings and social interactions to foster positive relationships


Risk Management (Safety, Quality, Financial):

  • Oversee safety protocols and regular safety reviews


  • Ensure adherence to quality standards through regular checks and coordination with inspectors


  • Monitor and manage project finances, including change orders and financial performance


Materials Management:

  • Oversee office and field obligations related to materials, including submittals, long lead items, purchase orders, and inventory management


Financial Performance:
  • Create and manage project budgets, ensuring accuracy and addressing variances


  • Prepare and submit progress billings, ensuring proper invoicing and retention procedures


  • Maintain contract status, resolve pending change orders, and oversee contract close-out procedures

Requirements
