Position Title: Senior Project Manager - Westminster FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: Construction Operations Date: 2026

Reports to: Construction Manager Location: Westminster, CO

Wage Range: $130,000-$160,000 annually + annual bonus incentive

Job Summary

Manage the operation of assigned construction projects. Coordinate all aspects of the job with engineering, general contractors, subcontractors and field managers. Makes decisions in regards to job changes and communicates these with upper management.

Essential Job Function
  • Leads the preplanning effort including shop drawings, value engineering, prefabrication, mobilization and material handling
  • Carries out all major tasks and/or assignments associated with designated construction projects
  • Manages changes that are needed on the project and responsible for organizing and completing changes as required
  • Held responsible for job setup, budget input, and budget formulation
  • Assist in contract review and negotiations
  • Review contract documents, contract drawings, specifications, codes, addendums and estimates for completeness and clarity; define the scope of the project
  • Jointly, with the field managers establish objectives and provide overall direction of each project
  • Provide projection of labor needs for assigned projects for corporate schedule and company wide labor needs
  • Conduct ongoing reviews and update of short interval goals throughout the course of the project
  • Monitor the purchase of all major equipment for each job and oversee purchase of materials to ensure budgets are on track
  • Update and distribute job schedules and manpower requirements with the input of field managers
  • Submit specification and documentation of equipment purchased to general contractor with copies to all involved parties
  • Expected to participate in the MTech University education process by teaching and/or preparing classes, when needed
  • Coordinate all subcontractor drawings, submittals, billings, and insurance documents
  • Act as liaison between customers and MTech Mechanical
  • Continue liaison relationship between MTech and owner during the warranty year
  • Jointly, with field manager act as liaison between MTech operations, sales and engineering
  • Fulfill all project manager duties related to MTech, safety management and the promotion of safety standards as specified in the safety policy
  • Apply for all necessary permits and inspections
  • Prepare AIA schedule of values
  • Prepare billing projections and billings and review and approve invoices for payment
  • Prepare, revise and update overs and unders for the profit and loss statement
  • Coordinate with the Project Engineers in the documentation and distribution of as-builts and operation and maintenance manuals
  • Leads field managers and subcontractors in the solution of project problems
  • Facilitate QA/QC process and ensure that Field Managers, General Superintendents and other project team members are engaged in the process and generating necessary documentation
  • Estimate, negotiate and implement all changes in the scope of the project; coordinate and communicate with owner, general contractor and internal personnel, all cost and schedule impacts related to the change order
  • Collect retention and delinquent funds
  • Generate revenue forecasts for assigned projects
  • Coordinate building system and temperature controls reviews prior to construction and assist in resolving identified issues
  • Manage virtual design and construction process (building information modeling; VDC/BIM)
  • Facilitate coordination of project schedule, VDC and prefabrication..
  • Coordinate service start-up and temperature controls with field manager, service and/or field manager controls
  • Work with Performance Verification and Testing team to ensure operation of building systems
  • Close out the job by submitting required paperwork and communicating with the field
  • Support the total quality effort. Identify and respond to the needs of internal and external customers 100% of the time
  • Mentor and develop Project Managers and Project Engineers for fast-paced growth
  • Assist with business development and project pursuits
  • Assist other Project Mangers in an advisory role for assigned projects
  • Promote MTech business values and culture
  • Promote proper use of company assets
  • Regular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet the requirements of this position

Qualifications
  • Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or Construction Management degree and design/build background highly preferred
  • (10+ years) construction management background at a supervisory level
  • (5+ years ) experience as the lead project manager on multiple projects valued over $10M
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and oversee disparate project teams
  • Must be approved to drive per MTech's driving standards
  • Requires solid background in commercial HVAC construction project management
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at different levels within the organization
  • Highly organized and ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in Viewpoint and Procore is a plus

Work Environment:

This position takes place in a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 20% of the time. The work environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are reasonable. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
