Overview

The Senior Project Manager will work directly with the Design Team and firm leadership at a successful healthcare design practice that has experienced significant growth over the past five years. The 50+ person studio is recognized for award-winning healthcare environments for clients including Kaiser Permanente, UCLA, and Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Position Description

The Senior Project Manager will independently lead complex healthcare projects from client proposal through closeout. This person will serve as the primary client liaison, direct multidisciplinary teams, develop strategic project plans, and ensure the effective execution of design, documentation, schedule, budget, quality, and contractual obligations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all facets of assigned projects and maintain accountability for overall project goals, quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
  • Build trusted client relationships through responsive communication, sound judgment, and exceptional service.
  • Prepare, manage, and negotiate professional service agreements, amendments, additional services, and consultant agreements.
  • Establish project budgets and contracted fees, oversee billing and collections, and manage consultant invoices and contractor pay applications.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules so design decisions and documentation are completed at critical milestones and contractual obligations are met.
  • Partner with the Design Team to carry the design vision through execution while advancing constructability, coordination, and appropriate technologies.
  • Oversee project manuals and procurement documentation, including bid instructions, bid forms, and schedules of values.
  • Lead quality assurance and quality control efforts across assigned projects.
  • Support business development, identify opportunities with current and prospective clients, and contribute to successful pursuits.
  • Mentor and motivate junior staff, support their professional development, and lead by example.
  • Identify and implement improvements that strengthen the accuracy and efficiency of project delivery.

Skills & Requirements
  • 10 or more years of project management experience, including leadership of multiple projects and complex assignments of significant scale.
  • Demonstrated healthcare project management experience is required.
  • OSHPD/HCAI experience is required.
  • Proven ability to lead project teams, prepare strategic plans, and coordinate all project efforts through successful completion.
  • Strong leadership, written and verbal communication, presentation, relationship management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, evaluate and improve working practices, and make sound decisions under competing priorities.
