POSITION PURPOSEThe Senior Project Manager directs the completion of work on projects within masonry, plaster/stucco, concrete, or marble & granite work, which aligns with the mission, vision, values and goals of The Gallegos Corporation. This role must have strong knowledge of the trades which they are managing and demonstrate organizational, leadership and supervisory skills. A Senior Project Manager should exemplify customer service when dealing directly with owners, vendors, project superintendents, site foreman, architects, general contractors and internal customers in all departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITES- Lead safety performance at a regional or multi-project level, analyze safety metrics, identify systemic risks, and partner with Safety leadership to implement strategic improvements.
- Oversee complex or multi-phase pre-construction planning, guide scoping, risk contingencies, pricing strategies, and cross-division coordination.
- Manage integrated project schedule across multiple projects, forecasting long-range resources needs, and advise leadership on capacity and project sequencing.
- Oversee SIP processes organizationally, establish best practices, coach superintendents, foreman and more junior PMs and ensure alignment with long-range planning and financial forecasting.
- Set regional compliance expectations for SIP, daily huddles, ADP processes, toolbox talks, and productivity builder; serve as an active or assigned productivity builder champion; ensure consistent field execution and training across all Gallegos trades.
- Direct exit strategy and post job reviews, identify systemic patterns, and report strategic improvements to executive and senior leadership.
- Manage complex internal/external stakeholders, negotiate alignment on technical issues, guide division through conflict resolution and coordinate challenges by offering solutions/creative ideas.
- Ensure all regional project budgets follow standard cost-control procedures, collaborate with Accounting and CFO on reporting improvements, and analyze broader budget trends.
- Oversee/manage change management efforts, evaluate contractual/legal risk, support claims strategy, and advise divisional leadership on const-control measures.
- Analyze financial performance across multiple complex projects, identify financial risks/opportunities, and implement regional cost-reduction or productivity improvement strategies.
- Mentor and development PM I and PM II staff, lead succession planning, support workforce strategy and reinforce cultural and leadership development; make hiring and termination decisions.
- Lead divisional and company-wide risk management efforts, ensure policy adherence, evaluate cumulative project risks, and brief executive and divisional leadership on mitigation strategies.
- Serve as a primary relationship owner for key strategic clients, influence partnership agreements, pricing strategies, and repeat-business opportunities.
- Lead/support estimating strategy for complex, high value bids, support CBDO and Regional President on margin strategy, risk posture, and standardization of estimating practices.
- Act as a culture champion across all operations, support and reinforce Gallegos' mission and values at a strategic level
- Supervise/manage PM I, PM II, project engineers, foreman, superintendent, and other key field employees by providing strategic direction, oversee performance, and act as regional operational leader when needed.
- Models the Gallegos Values at all times.
REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Project Management, Engineering or similar and a minimum of 10+ years of related experience. If no degree, a minimum of 14 years' experience in Estimating, Field Construction/Superintendent, Project Management experience.
- Ability to manage high profile, complex projects over $10+ million dollars.
- Extremely strong technical knowledge in a minimum of two Gallegos trades.
- Driver's License.
- Advanced Blueprint reading skills; Experience with QuickBid or other estimating software.
- Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels (internal and external).
- Travel to out-of-town project locations may be required based on operational needs (10%).
CERTICATIONS- OSHA -30 Card - Preferred.
- LEED Certification and/or experience.
COMPUTER/TYPING- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, ProCore, Sage 300 or similar systems.
LANGUAGE ABILITY- Must have a working knowledge of the English Language to communicate with other crew members. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
