Full Job Description
JobSummary - The Senior Project Manager position performs professional project management assistance / technical guidance for projects assigned for Division 8 frames, doors, and related hardware to ensure products provided by CIH/APTURA Group meets customer expectations.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible and accountable for:
  • Perform technical assistance to Project Managers in Comsense, technical guidance work per company standards, code requirements, manufacturer capabilities, customer expectations, and contractual requirements for the projects assigned.
  • Provide guidance and review of customer no charges and back charges for best solution while limiting company exposure.
  • Help Project Managers with review of ASIs/Bulletins/RFIs/PRs/etc., pricing of change orders
  • Seeks out product knowledge, training, new Comsense techniques, diligently listens to instruction given, and consistently applies knowledge gained to grow expertise.
  • Coaching and mentoring of team members.
  • Assist in training of new and existing Project Management team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Assist Project Management Team on technical tasks as needed including technical change orders by analyzing project drawings, specifications, and other contract documents to prepare quotes using industry specific software and other tools as required.
  • Assist Project Management Team on troubleshooting issues with material provided and provide guidance and solutions to help resolve problems.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to the Project Management and Purchasing teams for hollow metal, wood doors, and hardware.
  • Provide "overflow" handling of projects as a Project Manager as needed.
  • Review shop drawings & submittals for accuracy to understand scope of work and contractual obligations of projects within the Project Management Department
  • Perform shop drawing review with GC/architect and update submittals prior to submitting
  • Review large "typical opening" purchase orders for accuracy prior to submitting to Vendor.
  • No issue with repetitive use of fingers and hands, sitting for long periods, and long periods of computer usage.
Experience & Other Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Previous experience in the commercial door and hardware industry or construction industry required
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to customers and internal team members
• Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks and requests
• Strong time management and customer service skills
• Ability to maintain adequate level of professionalism while dealing with frustrated customers
