Full Job Description
Position Title: Senior Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion and warranty. This role will oversee project schedules, budgets, client relationships, subcontractors, and internal project teams while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and successful project delivery. Projects range from approximately $1M to $15M and include commercial, institutional, industrial, and renovation work throughout Maine.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned construction professional who takes ownership, communicates confidently with clients and project partners, and knows how to keep complex projects moving without losing sight of the details. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who values autonomy, strong operational support, and the ability to grow with an established construction company.

Salary Range: $135,000-$155,000 / Year, DOE

Responsibilities
  • Lead commercial construction projects through preconstruction, construction, closeout, and warranty phases
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies
  • Manage project costs, monitor financial performance, and track progress against established budgets and schedules
  • Build strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders, proactively addressing expectations and concerns
  • Lead project teams, including Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and other construction professionals
  • Manage changes in project scope, evaluating and communicating impacts to budgets, schedules, and overall project execution
  • Oversee project quality, ensuring work complies with plans, specifications, company standards, and applicable safety requirements
  • Identify project risks early, develop solutions, and keep projects moving toward successful completion
  • Visit active job sites regularly, typically approximately once per week, depending on project needs and location
  • Represent the organization professionally with clients, consultants, contractors, public agencies, and community partners

Requirements
  • 7-10 years of progressive construction experience, including several years of Project Management experience
  • Strong background managing commercial building projects, including new construction and/or renovation
  • Experience with construction management and design-build projects
  • Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, client relationships, and project teams
  • Experience with construction project management software, with Procore strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and client communication skills
  • Ability to travel to project sites throughout the region as needed
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
