Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced
Senior Project Manager to directly oversee multiple high-stakes lighting control systems projects totaling $5-15M while leading and mentoring our internal project management team. In this dual-impact role, you will act as the primary bridge between project management and Executive Leadership-driving productivity, consistency, and quality across the department while managing your own multi-million dollar portfolios from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Manage individual lighting control and integration projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Team Leadership & Management: Provide direct oversight, workload balancing, coaching, and regular performance feedback for Project Managers (PMs) and Assistant Project Managers (APMs).
- Performance & Financial Management: Monitor active project schedules, mitigate risks, review financial metrics (budget performance, labor utilization, forecasts, and billing accuracy), and drive profitability.
- Staff Development & Onboarding: Direct the onboarding and continuous training of PM/APM personnel, ensuring compliance with company processes and best practices.
- Process Improvement Leadership: Develop, standardize, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all project management workflows to guarantee cross-team consistency.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to resolve resource constraints, coordinate project priorities, and support strategic organizational initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements- Experience: 5+ years of project management experience in construction, electrical systems, controls integration, or related technical fields, with a proven ability to lead a PM team of 4 to 8 individuals.
- Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of low-voltage wiring, DMX512 and DALI-2 protocols, and the ability to read and interpret electrical/control system schematics. Extensive familiarity with Candela Controls product lines is a distinct advantage.
- Safety Standards: Strong safety mindset with the ability to hold or successfully pass OSHA 30 certification.
- Physical Capabilities: Manual dexterity for occasional reaching, climbing, and lifting; ambulatory capacity to walk construction job sites (up to 2 miles); ability to operate power tools, office equipment, and work from a ladder up to heights of 15 feet.
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.
