Our Central Florida Construction Practice is looking for a CEI Sr. Project Engineer - Central Florida Expressway and / or FDOT - for the Construction Management and Construction Engineering Inspection group in the Central Florida Area.
What you’ll be challenged to do:This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Senior Project Engineer with the ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing); direct complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program; plan and organize the work of subordinate and staff members; develop and/or reviews policies, methods, practices, and procedures; and reviews programs for conformance with Florida Department of Transportation standards. Design Build experience preferred.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Maintenance of construction project records in accordance with FDOT procedures.
- Interface with the Owner, Contractor, Project Administrator, and all staff on various facets of the project including contract change orders, item payments, and material testing.
- Ability to support new project pursuits, win work, and oversee construction management team.
- Direct and organize project meetings and oversee/assist with preparation of meeting reports.
- Preparation of monthly progress reports and maintenance of project logs.
- Perform/oversee the review of daily inspection reports and quantity computations.
- Respondents should have intimate working knowledge of FDOT Districts 1,4 & 5 in Central Florida; Florida’s Turnpike and possess all the necessary qualifications/certifications.
- Direct and assign specific tasks to CEI staff and assist in all phases of the construction project.
- Will be responsible for the oversight, progress, and estimates throughout the construction project duration.
- Must be motivated to win and manage new projects in addition to strengthening client relationships.
What you will bring to our firm:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering degree
- Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida
- Six (6) years relevant engineering experience with FDOT road and/or registered bridge construction, with a focus on Central Florida area clients including FDOT District 1,4 & 5 and Central Florida Turnpike
- Two (2) of those years involved in relevant transportation projects
- Exception Five (5) years for Complex Category 2 (CC2) and PTS bridge structures
- A master’s degree in engineering may be substituted for one (1) year engineering
- FDOT Advanced MOT certification required.
- CTQP Quality Control Manager certification required.
Compensation: $193,000 - 219,000 per year
