Position Overview

Senior Project Engineers serves as a leader, overseeing. This position emphasizes high-quality project deliverables, adherence to standards, and continuous improvement of engineering practices within the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Possess knowledge and expertise to solve complex stormwater problems and deliver projects effectively and efficiently. Capable of completing assigned projects and tasks independently and sealing reports and plans.
  • Possess strong technical knowledge of stormwater conveyance engineering (open and closed systems) and flood studies, with a strong foundational knowledge of pertinent regulations and general understanding of site design as it relates to McAdams projects.
  • Coordinate internally with Project Managers, Technical Managers, and other project team members within the Company for successful project delivery. Attend coordination and project meetings; operate independently in this area as needed.
  • Operate effectively under project timeframes to keep project deliverables on schedule.
  • Assist Project Manager with operational management of team. Assure workload and deadlines are managed effectively and assist with overseeing resource scheduling, utilizing McAdams procedures and programs where appropriate.
  • Maintain awareness of project financial performance and understand budget impacts.
  • Assure quality on all projects performed by team, review engineering work completed by designers, sealing work completed under responsible charge, and assist with development of design standards.
  • Train and mentor junior team members and promote their technical development.
  • Delegate and administer tasks to production staff. Provide oversight and review of work needed to complete tasks for submittal.
  • Meet with clients and other external project stakeholders as directed by Project Managers to provide stormwater engineering expertise. Deliver information in a manner appropriate for the audience in an understandable, effective manner.

Skills + Experience
  • Four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited program or related field required
  • EI required; PE or on track to obtaining PE strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 7+ years' experience in civil site design or related field required
  • Demonstrated expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential
  • Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to land development, zoning, stormwater management, and permitting processes
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project demands. Experience in developing and tracking project schedules and budgets
  • Exceptional analytical abilities to assess complex engineering challenges and develop effective, innovative solutions. Ability to anticipate project risks and proactively address them
  • verbal and written communication skills for effectively coordinating with internal teams, clients, subconsultants, and regulatory bodies. Experience in leading meetings and preparing comprehensive reports is a plus
  • Experience providing guidance, support, and mentorship to junior staff, fostering skill development and teamwork
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships by providing high-quality service, maintaining client satisfaction, and managing expectations
  • High level of accuracy in preparing design documents, plans, and reports to meet company and client quality standards
