This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering professional who takes ownership of day-to-day operational needs, partners closely with operations and maintenance teams, and helps execute projects that improve plant performance, reliability, and safety. If this sounds like you, come grow with us as we continue to build a sustainable tomorrow together!

This is an exciting opportunity for a safety-focused, results-driven engineering professional who enjoys full-lifecycle project ownership-from scope development and estimating through field execution, operations handover, and closeout. In this role, you will lead high-impact capital projects, support regional turnarounds, partner closely with operations and contractors, and help deliver safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance across a critical operating region.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Lead capital projects from concept through completion, including scoping, estimating, funding, design coordination, equipment and material procurement, contractor selection, field execution, operations handover, and project closeout.
  • Serve as the project owner for non-turnaround and turnaround capital work across regional HyCO and Air Separation facilities.
  • Champion Air Products' safety culture and demonstrate a visible commitment to achieving zero injuries, incidents, and environmental harm.
  • Develop project estimates, funding requests, schedules, forecasts, and execution plans that support safe, on-time, and cost-effective delivery.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, risks, resources, contractors, and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide field supervision and on-site construction management support during project execution.
  • Ensure projects meet operability, quality, reliability, and customer requirements in partnership with operations, maintenance, engineering, and site leadership.
  • Coordinate process hazard reviews, operational readiness reviews, handover inspections, startup action items, and project closeout activities.
  • Support regional turnarounds, typically one to two per year, by leading assigned capital project execution activities.
    • Conduct project safety kickoff meetings with contractors and operations teams before field execution begins.
    • Clearly communicate project safety expectations, including zero recordables and zero first aids.
    • Lead daily toolbox and safety meetings with craft teams during field execution.
    • Verify contractor understanding of Air Products safety standards and site requirements.
    • Complete daily safety observations, job safety analysis reviews, and field audits during execution.
    • Participate in the safe work permit process with operations and support continuous improvement through monthly team safety meetings.

Required Skills Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, make sound decisions, and drive results in a fast-paced industrial plant environment.
  • Strong communication, organization, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operations, maintenance, engineering, management, support teams, and contractors.
  • Professional, calm, and constructive approach to problem solving, conflict resolution, and changing project demands.
  • Ability to work professionally and harmoniously with co-workers, supervisors, management, support personnel, business partners, and contractors.
  • Positive and constructive attitude toward resolving problems and conflicts.
  • Ability to accept direction, feedback, and supervision professionally.

  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Availability to travel approximately 15-20% within the West Gulf Coast region based on project workload and turnaround assignments.
