About the Senior Project Controls Analyst Position

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for financial governance, project performance, and cross-functional collaboration? We're seeking a Senior Project Controls Analyst to play a critical role in driving the successful delivery of our project portfolio.

In this role, you will partner closely with Project Managers, Program Managers, Finance, and Technical Services leadership to provide expert guidance in project controls, financial forecasting, reporting, and governance. You'll ensure transparency, compliance, and accountability across projects ranging from standard to highly complex, making a direct impact on organizational performance.

In this role, you will be a key driver of the systems, processes, and decisions that guide successful project outcomes. You'll collaborate with high-performing teams, provide financial leadership, and contribute to major initiatives across the organization. Your work will directly support the efficiency, transparency, and financial excellence of our project operations. What You Get to Do:

Project Financial Management & Controls
  • Lead the development and execution of financial controls for large-scale projects.
  • Monitor budgets, perform monthly budget vs. actual analyses, and develop EAC/ETC forecasts.
  • Identify financial risks including cost overruns, underspending, or resource gaps.
  • Manage accruals, reconciliations, payroll allocations, and close-out activities.
  • Ensure proper financial treatment of estimates, purchases, and material management.

Project Performance & Reporting
  • Track and report project performance, providing real-time insights across the portfolio.
  • Partner with PMs to ensure accurate performance reporting and corrective action planning.
  • Prepare detailed updates for leadership with a focus on financial progress and alignment to organizational goals.
  • Support enterprise-wide financial reporting and PMO requests.

Governance, Collaboration & Process Improvement
  • Develop centralized project governance, reporting, and resource management tools.
  • Champion project controls best practices across teams and departments.
  • Support annual capital/expense planning and budgeting cycles.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline project management processes and tools.
  • Provide leadership, training, and expertise to team members and stakeholders.


What You Bring to the Table:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field from an accredited educational institution; will consider combination of education and experience.
  • Ideally 10+ years of analytical experience, ideally in construction management, finance, or accounting.
  • Ideally 8+ years' experience of project financial management on projects of $5MM+.
  • Ideally 5+ years of fiscal responsibility for projects $10MM+-Oil & Gas industry experience required.
  • PMP certification (preferred but not required).
  • Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with project management and reporting tools.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
