SummaryThe Programmatic Specialist is a hands-on trader and the day-to-day owner of campaign execution across Coegi's programmatic book of business. You will build, traffic, QA, and optimize campaigns across display, video, CTV, audio, and emerging channels - primarily in The Trade Desk - while working closely with strategy, client engagement, and measurement teams to keep performance on track. This is the craft role at the heart of our operations: the work you do every day is the difference between a campaign that delivers and one that doesn't.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
Campaign Setup, Trafficking & QA- Build and traffic programmatic campaigns across display, video, CTV, audio, native, and other channels - primarily in The Trade Desk, with additional DSPs as needed.
- Translate media plans into clean, well-structured campaign architectures: line items, audiences, frequency, dayparting, geo, and creative assignments.
- QA every campaign before launch - pixels and tracking firing, creative specs correct, deal IDs active, audiences attached, budgets and flight dates accurate.
- Implement and maintain Coegi's standards for brand safety, inventory quality, MFA exclusion, and viewability across every campaign you touch.
- Document setup decisions and naming conventions so anyone on the team can pick up the campaign and understand what's happening.
Day-to-Day Optimization & Pacing- Own daily pacing across your book - catching delivery issues early and acting on them, not just reporting them on Friday.
- Optimize toward client KPIs (CPA, ROAS, VCR, CPV, CTR, viewability, brand metrics) using bid factors, audience tuning, supply path changes, creative rotation, and dayparting.
- Run structured tests - audience, creative, deal, channel, bidding strategy - and document what worked, what didn't, and what to try next.
- Surface optimization stories and pacing risks proactively to strategy and client teams so there are no surprises in the weekly call.
DSP Expertise - Operate as a confident, hands-on Trade Desk user - Audiences, contextual, forecasting, performance reports, and the new features as they roll out
- Maintain working fluency in additional DSPs across Coegi's tiered partner framework (e.g., DV360, PulsePoint, Nexxen, StackAdapt etc..)
- Stay current on Trade Desk product updates, beta features, and OpenPath / supply-side changes - and translate them into practical improvements for your campaigns.
- Partner with the Programmatic Partnerships & Inventory team on PMP activation, deal troubleshooting, and supply path decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Work closely with strategy and client engagement on briefs, plans, and in-flight recommendations - bringing an executional point of view to the planning stage, not just the activation stage.
- Partner with RADaR Analytics on measurement design, conversion setup, and post-campaign analysis to ensure programmatic activity ties to real client outcomes.
- Contribute to internal documentation, playbooks, and training so the team gets better as a whole, not just one campaign at a time.
Qualifications - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- 2-4 years of hands-on programmatic trading experience at an agency, brand, DSP, or trading desk.
- Strong working expertise in The Trade Desk - building, optimizing, and reporting independently - with exposure to at least one additional DSP.
- Generalist channel experience across display, video, CTV, audio, and native; comfort working across multiple verticals.
- Solid measurement fluency: pixels, conversion APIs, UTMs, viewability, and the limits of each - you know what the numbers can and can't tell you.
- Comfort with PMPs, deal IDs, and the basics of the supply ecosystem (ads.txt/sellers.json, SPO, MFA, brand safety).
- Strong organizational instincts - you can run multiple campaigns and clients in parallel without dropping a QA step.
- Clear, low-drama communicator who can explain what's happening in a campaign to a strategist, a client, or a teammate without jargon as a crutch.
- Bias toward ownership and curiosity - you treat your book of business like it's yours, not like it's assigned to you.
Nice to Have- Experience with regulated verticals (pharma/HCP, financial services, B2B) and the targeting and compliance rigor they require.
- Hands-on work with incrementality, brand lift, or MMM-informed optimization.
- Familiarity with Canadian inventory, data, and measurement partners.
- The Trade Desk Edge Academy certifications (or willingness to complete them within the first 90 days).
What Success Looks Like in Year One- A clean, well-documented book of business - campaigns that other team members can pick up confidently and clients can trust.
- Consistent pacing and KPI delivery across your campaigns, with optimization stories you can defend in any client conversation.
- A growing library of tests, learnings, and best practices that the wider Programmatic team reuses.
- Strategy, client engagement, and RADaR teammates describe you as a reliable, hands-on partner who improves the work.
