Full Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with supplier executives to align leadership expectations and enhance collaboration.
  • Develop and implement strategic governance structures such as executive business reviews and operational scorecards to improve supplier performance.
  • Optimize supplier capacity and production readiness through data-driven planning and strategic investments.
  • Ensure supplier accountability by establishing clearly defined goals, responsibilities, and escalation mechanisms.
  • Lead the execution of supplier management initiatives, ensuring alignment with Microsoft's operational and business priorities.
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance through accurate data-driven indicators, and institute precise corrective measures when required.
  • Drive enhancements in factory onboarding, supplier management, and capacity expansion in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Lead decision-making for material allocation, production sequencing, and recovery plans for challenging supplier scenarios.
  • Promote continuous improvement using lean process methodologies to enhance quality, efficiency, and operational capacity.
  • Act as a primary escalation point for critical supplier risks and uncertainties impacting business continuity.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 7+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, Sales & Operations Planning, materials requirement planning systems and tools, quantitative & qualitative analysis in cross functional or organizational enterprise environment, or related experience OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 5+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, Sales & Operations Planning, materials requirement planning systems and tools, quantitative & qualitative analysis in cross functional or organizational enterprise environment, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
    • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
      • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 10 years of supply chain operations experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supplier management, particularly in a high-tech industry.
  • Experience in integrating AI, automation, and analytics into operational workflows.
  • Knowledge in supply chain operations such as capacity planning, sourcing, production control, and logistics.
  • Proven leadership in managing supplier escalations, risks, and recovery strategies effectively.
  • Analytical decision-making abilities and experience with cross-functional global teams.
  • Experience in cloud hardware, hyperscale infrastructure, server, rack, semiconductor, electronics, or other complex global manufacturing environments.
  • Experience managing multiple strategic suppliers and factory sites across regions and time zones.
  • Experience leading new product introduction, product lifecycle transitions, factory qualification, and mass-production ramps.
  • Knowledge of capacity planning, integrated business planning, production control, material readiness, quality systems, fulfillment, and logistics.
  • Experience with supplier commercial strategy, sourcing, contracting, cost management, or business-award decisions.
  • Demonstrated application of Lean, Six Sigma, process transformation, analytics, automation, or AI-enabled operations.


Supply Planning IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
