POSITION PURPOSE:

This position provides support of corporate oversight and governance of the safety functional area for TVA's nuclear fleet. [LD1.1][DE1.2]The Senior Program Managers (SPM) function is to establish metrics, processes and performance oversight to their areas of expertise to ensure activities are being conducted in accordance with appropriate regulations and TVA policies, programs, and procedures; technical Specifications; and federal, state, and local regulations. The SPM report to the RP CFAM and are accountable for fleet performance in the respective areas

JOB DIMENSIONS:

Supervisory Responsibility - None however the position does work closely with site equivalent roles and have final decision-making ability for activities in their areas. RP CFAM is expected to also be engaged in the decision making.

Budget Responsibility - As Applicable

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Serve as the safety working group leader

Works with RP CFAM to provide strategic initiative's, business plan development and oversight of functional area programs, policies, and processes utilizing assessment reports, performance metrics, and safety working group to assess the health of programs, policies, and processes consistent with industry standards and all state, local and federal regulations.

Establish and maintain fleet-wide best practices and develop TVA Nuclear fleet standardized policies, programs, processes, and department description for their functional area.

Provide oversight of site performance related to Site Excellence Plans and Site Business Plan respective to safety.

Ensure the sharing of "best practices" and operational experience among industry peers, the nuclear sites, and functional areas, driving to industry top quartile performance.

Proactively manage external relationships with regulatory and industry oversight agencies, utility and industry peers, industry groups, and other advisory groups.

Periodically review the overall effectiveness of corporate governance, to assure it is being assessed and that corrective actions are being taken to address shortfalls in fleet performance for functional and cross functional areas, related to the safety.

Elevate issues warranting further monitoring / correction and validating that actions taken in response are completed with quality. Issues are expected to be identified at the earliest warning vice after a department event.

Maintain a fleet action tracking repository to share learnings and drive fleet improvements. No site left behind.

Takes on additional responsibilities as assigned by the RP CFAM

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education -Bachelor degree in a science or engineering subject or the equivalent or equivalent training and experience.

Experience -Ten years of experience in the nuclear industry including five years in a position directly related to the responsibility of the position. Five years experience in a supervisory position is desired. Previous experience in a nuclear industrial safety role is a must.

Certification/License, etc - RO or SRO certification preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Knowledge of nuclear plant industrial safety programs. Must have demonstrated successful leadership skills. Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access. Candidate must be able to serve as a fleet center duty manager and cover emergency response position as needed.
