Full Job Description
Amazon is seeking a Senior Program Manager to support project planning and execution for the continued capacity expansion of our Global Fulfillment network. As part of the Infrastructure Program Management Office (PMO), you will drive capacity projects to completion, keeping them on schedule and within scope. You will convert business unit Plans of Record (POR) into detailed execution plans, coordinate all functions involved in program delivery, and ensure projects are delivered on time with intended business outcomes.

You will work with each phase of the project life cycle including build requirements, fulfillment design, planning, execution, and launch/hand-off. You will partner with Capacity Planning to validate project requests, Engineering Design to coordinate proposals and milestone schedules, Procurement to help release purchase orders, and field teams to coordinate kick-off meetings and support ongoing execution risk reporting and mitigation.

The fulfillment network portfolio is scaling significantly year-over-year as Amazon expands capacity across multiple program types. You will own a subset of that portfolio, managing complex greenfield, conversion, and expansion projects through the full lifecycle: conception, design, construction, automation deployment, and operational readiness. You will serve as the single point of accountability connecting planning, engineering, construction, and operations partners into coordinated delivery.

Key job responsibilities

-Own end-to-end program management for a portfolio of fulfillment center projects from Plan of Record (POR) approval through design, construction, automation deployment, and launch

-Drive cross-functional coordination and stakeholder alignment across 6+ partner organizations by facilitating weekly alignment meetings, managing planning-to-execution hand-offs, and reporting to senior leadership (Weekly Business Reviews, design reviews, Capital Appropriation Request approvals, and build plan presentations)

-Manage schedule integrity across the portfolio by reviewing Material Handling and Storage proposals for acceptable milestone schedules, tracking and following up on milestone-level delays, and coordinating with construction and automation vendors on First Access details

-Proactively identify, escalate, and mitigate risks that impact project schedules, managing critical path dependencies and escalating to senior leadership with recommended mitigation paths

-Report on program status to Senior Leadership, planning, and execution teams by maintaining the network Engineering Project Tracker and providing inputs on resource tracking, whitepaper development, and program data

-Improve program management processes, tools, and mechanisms by driving efficiencies, creating predictable delivery paths, and developing scalable approaches that enable consistent, repeatable delivery

-Mentor and develop program managers on the team; contribute to hiring, interviews, and promotion assessments

A day in the life

You start your morning reviewing milestone trackers and overnight escalations for your portfolio of sites in various stages of delivery. You join a design kickoff call for a new facility, aligning design and automation teams on scope and schedule. After lunch, you lead a cross-functional risk review where you escalate a permitting delay on a site approaching construction start and drive real-time replanning with the field team. Later, you prepare a portfolio status update for your manager, highlighting sites at risk and the mitigation paths you've initiated. You close the day by connecting with a peer to share a process improvement you've developed for accelerating vendor coordination.
