Sr. Director - Program Management (Internal)

As a Senior Program Director here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for leading an aircraft original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customer business team (CBT) and day-to-day business activities. You will lead a team of customer platform program managers that manage production / sustainment contracts and lead customer funded development programs. You will ensure that the business portfolio meets its Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for all financial metrics. You will play a critical role in driving the execution and strategic growth of the business by developing and executing comprehensive customer business plans to maximize customer satisfaction. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver value-added solutions to the customer.

You will be responsible for the overall OEM customer relationship. You are responsible for overall proposal strategy and negotiations in the portfolio. You will have oversight of all platform development program execution and ensure the contract cost, schedule and technical requirements are met. Your team will ensure that all orders are successfully entered and that the organization meets the customer's production requirements. You will be familiar with customer aircraft platforms, Honeywell content, and capabilities. In doing so, you will understand the business and competitive environment and will be able to identify and develop platform growth strategies and business opportunities.

You will report directly to the Vice President of the Defense OEM Customer Business Team and you'll work out of a major Honeywell Aerospace site on a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of customer platform program managers and development program managers
  • Execution of contractual requirements for all aircraft platforms and maintaining customer satisfaction
  • Execution of all proposal and contract negotiations for all aircraft platform follow-on contracts
  • Drive continuous improvement of quality and delivery performance to customer
  • Drive on time execution for all customer deliverables
  • Establish and lead SIOP activities to ensure alignment with customer business requirements
  • Collaborate with counterparts in other business segments to identify cross-business or cross-platform opportunities and best practices
  • Provide input to GBEs for technology development activities and product line strategies concerning the needs / feedback from the customer
  • Ensure all programs in portfolio are following the Integrated Product Delivery System (IPDS) process
  • Resolve complex customer issues while building customer trust
  • Establish communications with both internal and external stakeholders at the Senior Executive levels
  • Support engagements with customer to shape product offerings, develop new business, and maintain awareness of market trends
  • Influence and collaborate across functional boundaries between Finance, Supply Chain (ISC), and Engineering
  • Provide team level guidance and coaching
  • Ability to travel up to 25%


YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or business
  • Minimum 10-15 years of proven experience in program management within the defense industry
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with or for defense OEMs
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading military defense programs/contracts
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer facing role
  • Knowledge and experience in US government acquisition processes (e.g., FAR 15, FAR 12)
  • Financial acumen in communicating performance and in managing to Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets
  • Strong executive presence and executive communication skills
  • Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Strong management skills with the ability to lead diverse teams and drive portfolio success
