This Opportunity

Be involved in projects with our Property & Buildings Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Engineer for our Atlanta, Georgia office.

Provides high level technical assistance and guidance for multi-site/phase due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, design, development, and construction of utility, industrial, and commercial scale projects in the public and private sector. Tasks include the research, design, concept development, planning, and construction of transmission and distribution substations, power distribution, power regulation, renewable energy, as well as protection and control systems in a wide variety of contexts (utilities, transportation, building, and Federal, State, and local government projects). Substantiates reports and documentation to advise on material, installations, design, component, and construction specifications. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality.
Your Impact
  • Prepare basic deliverables and products including calculations, drawings, and specifications
  • Oversees all aspects of projects
  • Sets deadlines and assigns responsibilities
  • Examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projects
  • Design building electrical systems including power, lighting, communication, security systems and fire alarm while adhering to the firm's QA/QC process
  • Develop project specifications
  • Attend meetings with architects, owners and building managers to discuss future and or current projects
  • Responsible for meeting the client's project goals and objectives
  • Assist in business development by pursuing new work including participation in client presentations
  • Assist in the firm's human resource efforts through training and mentoring junior firm members
  • Enhances the firm's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing internal and external client requests
  • Demonstrates core values and serves as a role model/mentor to all firm members
  • Updates job knowledge and technical expertise by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in technical organizations and obtaining certifications in area of expertise and participating in the firm's Technical Committee as requested

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant post education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for large capital projects.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, decision making and analytical skills
  • Possess strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasive and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Ability to consistently set goals and meet deadlines and adapt to flexible responsibilities
  • Proficiency in Revit, electrical system studies (SKM, EasyPower, ETAP), photometric studies (AGI32), math principles, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Experience with Horizon or Project Resource Management software is preferred
  • Ability to meet and exceed client expectations

Preferred Qualifications
  • PE license is preferred.
  • LEED Certification is preferred.
  • Certifications in areas of expertise are preferred.
  • Experience in the healthcare, industrial and/or Science & Technology design projects.
