Senior Production Planner

Job Description
As a Senior Production Planner, you will be responsible for planning and determining the most efficient methods to achieve program objectives within the framework of technical capabilities. You will create manufacturing order schedules and purchase requisitions for assigned projects using MRP, track and monitor purchased materials, and identify critical parts and assemblies to ensure timely delivery.
Responsibilities
  • Execute plans and control programs through manufacturing and testing to ensure timely delivery of equipment to customers.
  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments.
  • Perform complex expediting and record-keeping functions with current information on the location and progress of manufactured parts and assemblies.
  • Release kits to the production floor with proper travelers, operation sheets, and documentation.
  • Host meetings on the status of programs regarding schedules with project management, production, testing, and resolve any problems impacting on-time delivery.
  • Arrange in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Compile and maintain manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materials.
  • Move or transport material from one department to another.
  • Expedite materials to ensure delivery and availability by due date.
  • Follow processing internal work orders to ensure items and assemblies are completed on schedule.
  • Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to ensure Work in Progress (WIP) is at current revisions.

Essential Skills
  • Experience with planning, pivot tables, ERP systems, MRP systems, and production planning.
  • 4-6 years of experience in Planning or Production Control in an electronic or electro-mechanical manufacturing facility.
  • 4-6 years of ERP/MRP experience.
  • Strong knowledge of work schedules, bill of materials, and receiving reports.
  • Proficiency in Costpoint, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and V-look ups.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with tools, equipment, and nomenclature of parts and components used in electro-mechanical manufacturing.

Work Environment
You will be part of a team of four within planning, which includes two planners and two seniors, including this position. You will work closely with buyers and spend a significant amount of time on the production floor. The role includes yearly performance merit increases.

This is a Permanent position based out of Melville, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
• Pay Period: Weekly, Direct Deposit only
