Full Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW:

The position is responsible for ensuring the timely achievement of the production plan across multiple shifts. The Senior Production Manager is responsible for ensuring employee safety, product quality, hygiene, cost, and environmental needs are met in accordance with legal and other requirements and standards. Additionally, this individual will oversee several teams and drive continuous improvement, empowering people, and motivating and developing their capability. The role requires strong leadership skills, including the ability to communicate the vision and mission in order to gain understanding and commitment from the team to achieve objectives. The Senior Production Manager will also be responsible for recognizing and developing the potential of all production employees, as well as proactive cooperation with other groups on site and within Nestle Health Science US to ensure alignment with the organization. Furthermore, the Senior Production Manager will model the way for others by practicing what is preached to create and maintain a workplace culture that engages and motivates associates at all levels. The Senior Production Manager will focus on results by setting ambitious objectives and taking initiative to find ways to reach and exceed them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure that finished products are consistently manufactured meeting prescribed standards (compliant) with quality, safety and good manufacturing practices, on time and meeting consumer expectations.
  • Effectively manage the Daily Operations Review, ensure exchange of information (cascade targets/escalate issues) for alignment with the objectives in the short term and Weekly Operations Review, Monthly Operations Review for medium and long term to achieve production plan and to identify and achieve performance improvements. Motivate, guide, support and coach the resources to achieve objectives and to act in accordance with Nestle guidelines.
  • Elaborate and execute workforce development program that will provide appropriate flexibility of workforce and assets. Focus on material availability, finished goods quality, and on time delivery through optimal resource allocation.
  • Provide timely feedback and coaching to individuals and team in order to develop them to their full potential and to achieve objectives in accordance with Nestle guidelines. Ensure succession plans and development - coaching of direct reports (where applicable) including development of specific training.
  • Promote and enhance a positive labor management relationship including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and establish high levels of employee involvement.
  • Lead a continuous improvement/employee involvement culture. Drive for excellence and support operators and staff in their tasks focusing on safety of people.
  • Ensure the timely launch of new products to the Market as per agreement with the business unit.
  • Any other tasks assigned.


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Business Management, Food Science, or Organizational Leadership/ Supervision) required. Experience would be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • At least eight (8) years food industry production, purchasing and/or packaging experience with progressive responsibility leading people is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in different manufacturing environments or functions within manufacturing while leading successful projects in different departments and functions is a positive.
  • Exposure to implementing continuous improvement, employee engagement, and change management.
  • English is required, Spanish would be beneficial.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving skills, and strong interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • High engagement and excellent follow up skills.
  • Creative problem solving, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Great people skills, maintaining a positive attitude, and the ability to motivate people are needed.
  • Work extended days and/or weekends with flexibility or switch shifts as needed.


Salary: $126,813.60 to $184,825.20 per year

Bonus Eligibility: Yes

The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
